Thats how I feel about Jay-Z. I think that Wayne can still spit, just not as focused as he used to be. I wonder if people will judge it on its own merits, or compare to the other albums in the Carter series....

The more I listen to it, the better it gets. I just drove around high as shit lol for about 2 hours with my boy bumping this and we were just bumping this shit (btw my friend hated Wayne ever since C3) and he likes it. But when I first listened to it it was just sounding like a decent album nothing great, but just listening about 3 times after that it really is a great album, not better than C2 but definately better than C3. I was kind of expecting a different sounded album especially since 1st album since jail, but it really is a good lyrical album. Im glad there was some deep meaning songs and tbh I could listen to any song without always skipping it. How To Hate will have to grow on me though.

Beat Choice: 7/10

Overall: 8/10

just gave it a full listen and its pretty dope. very well made.

i still cant give my fav song on there coz it was my first listen.
but it doesnt top the carter 2, but it is better that the carter3 imo

C2>C4>C3>C1 in my IMO

i think this is a classic. not better than c2 but better than c3.

i like the variety it has, it has some stuff that goes hard, has some stuff that is mellow/chill, has some stuff that if you were high you would get real deep into. i like where he went with this, im really interested to see what tracks the target version contains.

i like it, but i can kinda see these songs getting old really quick, hes rappin way harder than he did on C3, i'd say in that regard hes on C2 level, creatively tho, the metaphors are so obvious and rehashed. the beats were definitely harder on this album, thats a plus, i think this is his first album where it featured his label mates the least. this album isnt groundbreaking, its not a phenomenon like C3 was, it wont do a milli in a week, but what it is, its a great album from an great artist doing what he does safe in his comfort zone. if C3 is his Black Album, the C4 is his Kingdom Come
