  • Personal Review:

This is just a personal review I wrote earlier. I am not an English major so don't be hatin' if i forgot a coma or something lol..Anyways, thoughts?

    Carter 4 Review: @Trev_Da_DJ

    1. Intro – Honestly, the worst way to introduce your album. Starts out with one of the worst punch lines I have ever heard. The beat is kind of annoying. Lyrically this song is the weakest on the album. Nothing is special about this song.. I give it a 2/10. – Fav Line: Niggas Countin’ Money, You Niggas Counter Fit.

    2. Blunt Blowin’ - Now this right here, this should have been the first song on the album. Wayne is defiantly on his grind in this song. The beat kind of reminds me of “Bill Gates” especially when the hook comes in. This is supposedly one of the first songs he recorded right out of prison. The hook is so catchy and the beat is absolutely amazing! I’ll give it a 9/10. Fav Line: The whole hook in general. // I still got da vision like a line between two dots!

    3. MegaMan – Ransom all over again, minus drake. The beat is defiantly played off Ransom which is not a bad thing. I don’t mind the whole “No Hook” thing. Wayne just spitting bars over this fresh beat. Flow is pretty nice and lyrically is pretty good. Besides his Burger Kind reference I give this song a 7/10. Fav Line: “I’m Sick, I’m Ill, I ain’t the nigga to fuck wit” …

    4. 6’7 Feat Cory Gunz – Just not right now…

    5. Nightmares of the Bottom – First let me say, the live version gave me such high hopes it was defiantly a letdown. I feel like Wayne just got too lazy with this one.. The song is still chill, and if you want to go on a CC then it’s defiantly something you can listen to, but it isn’t cutting it for me just sitting here listening. The bass though….. Minus the lazy swag, I give it a 7/10. Fav Line: That bullshit don’t concern me, if I knew I was going to jail I would have fucked my attorney”

    6. She Will Feat Drake – What can I say, the song is pretty good. Lyrically Wayne does justice and his punch-lines are ill as hell. Drake holds down the chorus and the beat is pretty damn good as well.. Anyone arguing that Drake would have murdered that beat with a verse though? He would have killed Wayne which is why I think he doesn’t have a verse. I’ll give it an 8/10. Fav Line: I’m all about “I” give the rest of the vowels back”.

    7. How To Hate Feat T-Pain – This one has grew on me. At first I was like wtf is this shit? Is this fur real? T-Pain all auto-tuned out and what not!? Since forcing myself to listen to it many times, I kind of enjoy it now. Wayne does his “Single Swag” and his lyrics are decent. This song will defiantly teach you how to hate a bitch. I give it a 5/10 – Fav Line: “And you can sit on my middle finger for the night”.

    8. Interlude Feat Tech Nine and Andre 3000 – This song right here is one of my favorites and Wayne isn’t even on it! Tech spits so raw on this it’s insane and we get a un-credited verse from Andre 3 Stacks.. I give the song a 8/10. Fav Line: All of Tech’s Verse!

    9. John Feat Rick Ross – No…

    10. Abortion – Wow, this one really surprised me a lot! Before the album dropped all I could think about was “Wayne might have substance in the song, because the title” Well, nope he doesn’t. The song is still pretty damn good. The hook is re-done from the original I know your name song that was cut from Alchemist album in 09! With a lil bit of Rock influence in the beginning, the verses hold it down and Wayne is rapping some raw shit. None of the lines seem forced, they just seem like they came to him naturally. I give it a 8/10… Fav Line: “I woke up this morning, dick rock hard, ashed my blunt in my grammy award”.

    11. So Special Feat John Legend – At first I hated the song, I am now in love with it. Wayne pretty much spends the whole song describing the different ways he gets women (I Guess?) .. Anyways, John Legend holds the hook down pretty good, I was expecting a lot more from him, but it’s whatever! I give the song a 8/10. – Fav Line: “I knock her lights out, I blow a fuse”

    12. How To Love – Greaaaatt song.. F The critics.

    13. President Carter – Chills when I play this song. The song is absolutely amazing and plays well into the Carter Series. The Jimmy Carter intro was a great idea and Wayne’s verses are sick as hell. His flow is very good, and his lyrics kinda mean something at points. The song has somewhat of a substance and has been on replay for a while now. Minus the weird hook, the song gets a 10/10. Fav Line: “Smoke ya like a blunt then its ashes to ashes”.

    14. It’s Good Feat Jadakiss and Drake – Uh oh, this is where shit gets heated! Jadakiss did him, minus the fact that he was trying to use the Drake/Wayne flow, but it’s whatever. Drakes verse has some serious problems. Although he sounded mean and very hungry, he confused me when he went in talking about Rikers Island.. Last time I checked dude you weren’t there…He also rhymed Faded with Faded, and then threw another Faded in their 3 times in a row..smh.. Now Wayne’s verse was where the water starts boiling. Wayne starts out and he jus sounds hungry for some respect. From his “I Wish I Wish I Wish you would bitch line, to his Jay-Z Diss his whole verse was sick! His voice sounds like the Weezy I’ve been missing, and his lyrics are very clever. Personally I thought the diss was pretty good.. “Talkin’ bout baby money, I got your baby money, kidnap your bitch get that how much you love your lady money” – That was only the beginning of the diss. He then goes on to call Jay-Z (Sublimely) a pussy cat..haha hello kitty..His whole verse was good until he said his girl is a faggot…that’s another topic.. Song gets a 9/10 just because Drake rhymed faded with faded with faded…otherwise it’s a 10/10.. Fav Line: The whole Jay-Z Diss.. (:
    15. The Outro Feat everyone that is good – The outro is to good besides Shyne sounding like Rick Ross…He is just awful. Nas bodies the track, along with Busta in his fast spitting, lyric confusing seizure infested verse.. Track gets a 8/10. Fav Line: Nas Verse..Everything…
Not trying to mess with the bonus tracks right now, not worth it because I’m tired..
Overall the album for me is amazing. One thing that separates the Carter 4 from the Carter 3 is I can understand what this dude is saying. His voice is so much clearer and it isn’t a bunch of mumbling. Sure, the Carter 3 had some bangers, but it also had songs like.. Lollipop, Got Money, Phone Home, Prostitute 2, Mrs. Officer and Comfortable.. Those songs are not even good… The Carter 4 to me is better, but I’m not here to argue which Is better. I’m going to listen to what I want to listen to and not care what other people think lol. Just wrote the review for kicks and giggles.. Lattaaa…

    Final Verdict: Carter 4 – 8/10
