I disagree with that highly....and I'm ashamed of some niggas on here....yall use to hate bad on Wayne and now because he sold alot you gotta change of heart....How the fuck does selling the most make you the best.....GTFOH

Wayne is great...will be a legend when he retires and probaben end this game as the most iconic ever to pick up a mic....But as far as being the best or greatest rapper he is not...Skill wise...he doesn't even make the best songs...he is just the most popular and probably the most fascinating....he had his time where he was the best skilled..that time has passed...on the other hand..Wayne is still my favorite...I know he can still rap his ass off when needs be...I know that "I'm the best rapper" spirit is still in him...But he himself said he isnt the best anymore....he is one of..

But as I said before, greatest ≠ best. Greatest as in popularity, influence, being an icon, etc. Not as in being the best rapper in the game.

Think of it this way....Can you really say Lady Gaga is the greatest pop star alive..She is the most popular, the most influential...She is all those things Wayne are..but is she Greater than Britney Spears?....Thats like being a average ball player but being the most popular and most iconic....can you really call that person the greatest...that word surpasses being the best....its just puzzling me how you guys describe being the greatest...

There is no way to measure who is the best in the rap game
The level of who is the best isnt even real, its all in the opinion of the listener

It's kinda sad how everyone that was apart of "Tha Carter IV" or knew anything about it said it was going to change our lives, etc. It's a great album but not Wayne's level of great.

It all depends on how you define the word "great."
I'm looking at it as:

Of outstanding significance or importance

Powerful; influential

Remarkable or outstanding in magnitude, degree, or extent

But you're looking at it as:

Superior in quality or character

Both are right, it's just a different point of view.

Best Rapper Alive? No. That is more like a imagething to me. But I think of him as the best ARTIST alive ( Wayne as a person, performer etc.)
He was the greatest a few years ago tho
