Punchlines and stuffs Wayne do on C4...

    Punchlines and stuffs Wayne do on C4...

    After watching the Public Service Announcement vid from Weezy's blog, I started to think: shizzzz, Wayne is deep as fuck. Then I looked at C4. Full of punchlines. There are some deep songs in there, but pretty much punchlines everywhere. It doesn't bother me much, unlike a lot of people on this forum.
    But, could it be that there are more to C4 than just punchlines? Could there actually be some deep shit hidden within these simple punchlines?
    I know this is probably the 10th topic about this, but I just can't get this shit off my head. Call me a dick-rider if you want, but I dig this punchline shit. A lot. That's why I wanna know if there's anything more to it than just punchlines.

      Nah, he just doesn't have the same focus on his music as he used to. Did you hear the reason he gave for putting a studio into his house? In case he forgets to record one day... He used to live in the studio.

        i think there is, but he not showin us as well as he used to. like, i bet if he sat down and explained nightmares of the bottom to us, it would explain why he puts so much attention on that shit at his shows, and would prob give the song a whole new meanin. but from how I see the song right now, I don't see why he considers it deep. I know these songs personal TO HIM, but I wish he wouldn't disguise em with punchlines like he been doin lately.

              short answer : no.

              waynes music has always had depth.
              its just a matter of understanding how hes expressing his ideas.
              his emotions. his process. if you miss that. then yeah.
              someone could think that his music has no depth.

              but on c4. its this misguided attempt.
              to sound mature and wise for an audience.
              so he serves a bunch of fortune cookie raps.
              and it ends up being shallow as fuck.

              theres a far more natural and mature wayne on carter two than there is carter four.

              its just implicit in the work and no so easily picked at.

              but listeners are lazy. so fuck it.
              they wont find the gems.

                the third verse of NOTB ruins the song, tbh. " that's them twin glocks, you can call them siblings"

                  Na, he said even tho he got a studio on his house he still go to the real studio which takes him 15 mins to be there so he doesn't feel that he need to relax. The only reason he had the studio on his house so IF he forgets, that means he is always recording.


                  And no one used to live on the studio, dude has a life too, ya digg?
