  • Am I the only one who thinks Wayne has IMPROVED lyrically over the years

I see so many people talkin about how weezy used to be way better and hes a sellout and stuff, I think the only sellout-ish thing is how he does so many features on mainstream pop sounding songs and stuff and does some soft songs
    But I think lyrically C4 >>>> C1
He used to mumble a bunch of random words that rhymed, I think his lyrical peak was C2/C3 Era but he hasn't got much worse lyrically since then, he just overuses the super-dupa flow now
He still has tons of sick metaphors/similes/punchlines
I think the only thing's worse now are his selection of beats are much weaker than C2/C3 and he uses that superdupa flow way too much

I don't think he's better, but he's not as bad as people like to exaggerate. It truly pisses me off lol

I see where you're coming from for sure. If he would just ditch the supa dupa flow he would be so much better, lyrically he really isn't that bad aside from a few wack lines here and there.

as times changed, wayne changed. i truly think it's all a matter of personal preference. also, the younger crowd seems to love the C4 wayne (metaphors and punchlines appeal to them apparently), but i guess that's because that's all they know... they haven't heard much prior to C3 and they don't know the street wayne that we know. but no, his old school is definitely better than his new school both lyrically and in content. it was definitely more than a bunch of mumbling.

After hearing CarterII/Drought3/Dediation2/LFLS Wayne I must disagree, he hasn't improved lyrically...and why do people get upset when someone says Wayne is bad..ppl have been doing that for years......even when he was the best rapper alive...if he is your favorite listen to him, if he is the best listen to him....simple....

"I go so hard, they call me go so hard." Wayne wouldn't have said that back in the day.
