    Re: When Wayne's Off Probation

Drugs wasn't the reason his music was great back then, it's coz he cared more and recorded with great effort!

It's not like smoking weed gets ur mind to function better and ur music turn great. Lol

Drugs had a lot to do with why his music was great back then. His flow, delivery, and raw voice was a product of drugs. The reason he recorded with "great effort" was because he was high and actually feeling his music (anyone who has gotten high and listened to music would understand what I mean). He even said it himself in the Westwood interview, "...whatever was in my cup got me more popular, more successful, I did a lot more things then I've ever done, picked up a guitar and learned how to play it, put on autotune and learned how to stretch my voice, and became number one in the country with everything I ever dropped. I probably should pick that cup back up."

On top of that, if you don't think wayne's raw sound came from drugs, check out the first 5 seconds of him talking in this vid:

You don't have to agree with me, but every aspect of his music was deeper and more layered when he was on some type of drug. If you listen closely and compare his post-jail tracks to anything else he ever dropped, it's obvious. If he was sober his whole career he would not have lost the motivation like he did from before to after jail.

And as far as the weed comment, it's not a coincidence that many of the greatest musicians ever were substance abusers. It helps whether it's dangerous or not.

Even tho I didn't read quarter that shit, I still respect ur opinion. But just like how drugs resulted to shit like C2 and D2, it still was a result of stuff like INAHB and D3. So yeah...

He'll probably start smoking again regardless.

And Drought 3, CIII Leaks, etc, but I get what you're saying. But at least there was more good then bad. To be honest I rather bump INAHB and some Dedi3 tracks then CIV or these new features any day.

But it will definitely open up and increase his creativity, putting his mind in different places. He even said so himself on HOT97 that its much harder writing when he's sober. This probation allows me to give him a minor pass on his new shit, but definitely not enough to cover up all the mediocrity.
For some reason there is still something about C4 that I love, but I'm banking on that once he is a free man, we'll be seeing more No Ceilings flow and Forever-type verses. He's been making music under the influence all of his career obviously this affects him.
Looking forward to November 2013!!! Til then, hoping he actually puts in full effort on albums and gets the most out of himself.

He was sentenced in June 2010, but it started once he got out of jail.
