Uhh, because no one thinks there's a reason to lie about selling 3.5 milli? Please, if they wanted to lie, they would've gone with 4 or 5 milli.

Well I haven't spoken to Danny about it but there really is no real source of that image of the plaque. Not to mention it only did 2 million in the US a month or two back. And it only sold 60,000 first week outside the US so it has not done 1.5 Million outside the US since it was released. I think there must be some misunderstanding.

Either the site I used to track worldwide sales was very inaccurate (1.2~m out though?? doubt that)

or..

and finally my most logical reason for it would be

Maybe they've successfully distributed, shipped, produced 3.5Million copies of the CD to be sold worldwide and even though they haven't all been bought yet that enables C4 to be successfully certified?

First off, his album hasn't gone triple platinum. It has gone double platinum in the United States and it has not gone much further than that worldwide. I don't know why people are saying that Tha Carter IV went triple platinum and has sold 3.5 million copies worldwide. That is false. Whoever said that - probably Birdman - is lying. The album sold 64,000 copies outside of the United States in the first week . If you were to plot the sales outside of the United States starting with week one it would be an exponential function, meaning that the sales decreased dramatically in the first couple of weeks and then sloped off. By my estimates, the function of sales outside the United States would look something along the lines of f(x) = 9.015(0.9996)^(x) where x represents the week.

That means it is mathematically impossible for the album to have sold that many copies. It is also illogical. You people are all retards if you believe it sold that much. Danny, remove that blog post please.


It is also important to note that the artist that sells the most is not necessarily the best artist out. In my opinion, Tha Carter IV is Wayne's third best album and it was the second best album nominated for Best Rap Album of the Year at the Grammys. The album that won deserved to win.

IF THERE'S 3 PLAQUES IT DOESN'T EQUAL 3 MILLI, IT EQUALS THE 2 MILLI WE KNOW OF FROM AMERICA PLUS 300K MORE MAX, BUT UK AIN'T INTO WAYNE LIKE THAT SO IT OBV WASN'T FROM THERE.
