Lyrically its above some of his later work no matter which point of view you take, people just hated that he tried to rock. And yes, yes he is. Rejuvenating a bit after his all time low he got into after he recorded 6f7f.. not having high hopes for future albums tho, he doesn't have enough time to make a gem when Birdie wants to release gazillion albums per year, and Tez has apparently gone deaf.

Thats true. Drop the world, American Star, Running, Da Da Da, Get a Life and On Fire were all drop tracks. Hip Hop is just full of conservatives who hate change... they think hip hop will die, so they quickly dismiss anything not hip hop out of fear.
