Man, I miss that too. I remember how hyped I was for new Wayne! And how shit just leaked all the time.
Now I'm not hyped for new Wayne at all. But the good thing is, when somethin' leaks I can get a lil happy if the verse is decent. But he doesn't make fire shit anymore. He ran out of shit to talk about... Apparently. His new verses has a fuckin' manual believe me I tested it. The pussy lines, smoking lines, world/life lines etc.
And Weezy says he can't rap on topic, man that's bs. Mirror/Novacane is "new" songs and he mixes wordplay with the subject perfectly. No need for pussy-lines.

It was. It's what I ment though...leaks all the time...which created a healthy and positive buzz for Wayne even though it was being hacked and leaked..it worked in his favour and made him make more and more..was a good time.

he used to smoke in interviews, drink on camera, curse on camera, i got the sense that he was genuine and he wasnt letting somebody elses opinion of him effect him

Yep. I just played some Wayne for the first time in a good month or so. His music was so great.

Though, I'd rather him not release music than release bad/mediocre music.

Let's not make excuses for his atrocious music. It just exacerbates the situation.

Your point is? How old are Nas, Jay, Em and Kanye? They're still going hard (Jay-Z not as much, but still better than Wayne).

Don't get me wrong I love all hip hop but I definitely always look forward to new Wayne (maybe not as much these days as I used to) and when new music drops from other artists, even if it's a mixtape it just never feels the same as it did to be a Weezy fan back in those days getting all that free music at such a high quality of rap.

Really want a mixtape from Wayne right now, even S4TW was pretty sick, I'd take a mixtape over IANHB2 anyday.

What do you lot miss the most from that era & do you think that type of hype and flood of music will ever return or has it ended and moved on like most things in music?
Everything bro. I can't bump one new track that he's put out in a while. He doesn't even put out new music anymore and his features are trash. It's like less than not trying. A fucking child could come up with the shit he says anymore. It's been like this for a while and all he cares about doing is skateboarding, so fuck it.

I've never in my life seen such a complete turnaround in a person. It's honestly amazing.
