Why hasn't Wayne dropped the 'lil' from his name?

Serious question here.
Why has Lil Wayne kept the 'lil' in his name? I know why he calls himself Wayne but not sure why he kept the 'lil'.
So is there a reason for that and i have missed it, or has no one ever asked him about it?

That's why he dropped the D according to the above interview (which I believe is the one you are referencing). That is not why he still has Lil in his name or why he added Lil to his name in the first place.

Yeah, i remember there was one interview explaning why he still kept it. It would be weird for him to just be called "Wayne". And alot harder to differentiate him from other Wayne's unless you add the "rapper" after it.
