I know I'll get a lot of criticism for that but I think the real change happened on No Ceilings.
When I first heard Swag Surfin and Wasted (first 2 songs that were online) I was fucking disappointed because his voice was so high pitched and gay IMO. Also this was the time where he started to where skinny jeans. From that day on Wayne never made any song that could compete with his past work. I hated No Ceilings even though his lyrics and flow where good because the Wayne I knew wasn't on this tape.
Like I said just my opinion.

Yea I agree, when he first came home from jail his swag was on point, he was working hard in the studio everyday, and his features were dope. Romans Revenge, Welcome To My Hood, Fire Flame, Hustle Hard, etc, these were all dope ass features then once he started skating his music fell

I think it was when he was transitioning from being high all the time to being sober around the time of Rebirth. Tha Carter III was hot but he was getting fucked up around that time. Once he started doing Rebirth, he got sober (before jail) and changed the way he dresses and changed his additude. I think he is happier in life now, which has changed the tone in his music.

He wasn't sober before he went to jail. He was still smoking and drinking.

So right before he went to jail, cuz intro is pre-jail.

And I think the lyrical change was right after No Ceilings, I think that was his last project with replay value.

And I think he means syrup, cuz he stopped leaning before No Ceilings.

Are we talking a change for the good or bad? He changed up his lyrical style plenty of times...the best transition one was from dedication 2 to like father like son flow....then to drought 3....but he kinda went to "shit" after I am not a human being, because I have to respect him on bill gates..

Do you if other songs are pre-jail as well?

You're talking about his clothes. His verses after he got out of jail were nowhere near as good as the stuff he released before jail IMO.

I sort of agree with you. I like No Ceilings but the rawness of his voice was definitely gone. With that said I didn't mind that change because the verses were still good and the lyrics and flow were great.
