Did probation completely start the change of Weezy?

I'd like to clarify this post wasn't me being negative about him now. I'm happy with the content i've got from him. The library is massive and a lot of amazing classics and great projects. I'm just pushing a good forum debate really. I personally think he's still delivering great stuff just not as consistently.

It would be interesting to have wondered, what would happen if he never got probation or jail time?

the lean doesn't do anything for that, ive tried it and it doesn't make you smarter or anything, if it was any drug at all that affected his lyrics it would been the weed.

plus he started to become more mature and music losing quality in 2010 before jail (maybe cause of the fact that he knew he would go through a big change soon)

In my personal opinion, I have seen a change of Wayne for the worse since 2008. That is the year when the quality declined for him.

The biggest thing is he just lost his work ethic & passion. We still get good music from him IMO though. I've enjoyed almost all of his 2012 features.

But you'd never hear the 'Old Weezy' saying he's not finished with a mixtape due to skating. Dude use to have tons of songs ready to go.

the undeserved success of C4 changed him. he just got creatively complacent after two Carters in a row selling a million in a week.

as for style, after How to Love he changed the way he dressed.

Yea it had something to do with it. Being on drugs made him more creative. Im not complaining in any type of way though. I think its great that he's clean now. To be honest I think skateboarding changed him more than being off drugs did. When Wayne first came out he was still delivering good music. Then he picked up the skateboard & has been inconsistent.

I think the Lean and Weed just made weezy a machine.
He was so high off of that shit that he didn't care about anything else except those two, and recording music.
Back in 06-08, all lil wayne did was record everywhere he goes. The Carter Documentary said he recorded over 1000 songs...
I just wish those unreleased songs he recorded could be released somehow.

Now the empire is over with weezy.

Instead of bringing a Mic, blunt, and a double cup everywhere.

He brings a skateboard.

He basically dropped the studio for skateboarding.

I'm sure now he wont go to the studio unless it's for a real project, he won't go to the studio in the same mindstate as he did in 06-08.
