Carter 2 by a long shot. Carter 3 had a lot of various topics, cool punchlines scattered around, nice lyrical songs (Tie My Hands, made around the time C2 was made tho), etc. But the lyrical level of C2 was just something else.

      Example:
      "Get 'em get 'em Weezy
Hit 'em where you kill 'em easy
Sit 'em in a river leave 'em
      They find 'em tomorrow evenin'

      Singin'
      I'm probably drinkin' that syrup
      Thinkin' I won't slip
Even tho I'm leanin' like a broke hip

He ain't know I got the Nina with the full clip
That's a somersault, backspin full flip for ya
Push this button, I'll flip out and hit somethin', miss nothin'
I'm just bustin' until the scene clean

Twelve hundred for the jeans, stop playin'
A hundred dollars for the glock in my pants
      Who the man?
      I am

When I stand with it pointed right at your face
Knock your brains from the back of your neck for lack of respect
I strap a jet black gat til the death
Tell my momma to bury me with that, no bullshit

My hood gettin' kinda crazy where I be
So Rony's wit' me 'cause he's the O.G."

      This ONE verse itself...

agreed, C3 is the album for better music, gut lyrics and wordplay, C2 is the way to go. damn, you just made me want to listen to them both now.

            Lyrics and flow? C2 ofcourse....

To me, even for music I'll say C2...I listen to C2 now more than C3, but they both are great fucking albums!

Tha Carter II, really not a contest imo
"Armed and dangerous, rich and famous, young and restless
              Guns and stretchers
              Cristal and dubs for breakfast
I just got one suggestion - none should test him
'Cause cuz get hectic; send one through your sons intestines
Glocks knock lungs from chests, you get the portrait?
Bodies piled up on porches, it won't be gorgeous"

Wayne's more developed and a better rapper on C3. Source: 3 Peat, You Aint Got Nothin On Me, Dr Carter, Let the Beat Build, ect...

                  The Carter 3
I don't set out to be different. I set out to be me, and people think that's different.

This is not really up for debate. C2 was much better lyically. all you gotta do is compare the two intros. 3 peat is an amazing track but the mobb lyrically is on another level.

No doubt the Carter 2 did have the better lyrics physically, but I think Carter 3 delivered it's lyrics better than 2, which made the album better for me.

I think weezy was still growing, he still had a hard southern touch to his music, his voice still had that young ring to it.

I prefer Carter 3's lyrics because the delivery is much better for me. His voice matured greatly. The lyrics weren't as synister as Carter 2.

Carter 2 was heavily on a southern flow style, money, strong violent lyrics, but weezy managed to balance it with songs like Hustler Musik.

Carter 3 had a more passionate, less southern style flow, more of a classic album to me.

And the lyrics had more meaning and feel to it.

That's just my take on the debate though.

Both amazing albums, I just prefer the more matured lyrics on C3.
