Yes the intros for wayne's albums usually set the tone. look at all his albums. The very 1st track of each album has shown where wayne was at lyrically. Im not sure how ppl judge lyrics. for me i judge by the devices used: e.g metaphors, worplay, etc etc and if you look at carter 2 vs carter three from a lyrical standpoint, carter 2 is much better. Though from a conceptual stand point songs like dr carter, tie my hands, shoot me down make carter 3 better.

          C2

C3 is a great album, the only bad thing about it are the singles, they fucking suck.
Lollipop and Got Money are horrible,Mrs.Officer is a pretty good song I just wished he rapped more on it instead of trying to sing, and A Milli.. well i love his flow on it but the beat is just annoying.

I think weezy was still growing, he still had a hard southern touch to his music, his voice still had that young ring to it.

I prefer Carter 3's lyrics because the delivery is much better for me. His voice matured greatly. The lyrics weren't as synister as Carter 2.

Carter 2 was heavily on a southern flow style, money, strong violent lyrics, but weezy managed to balance it with songs like Hustler Musik.

Carter 3 had a more passionate, less southern style flow, more of a classic album to me.

And the lyrics had more meaning and feel to it.

That's just my take on the debate though.

Both amazing albums, I just prefer the more matured lyrics on C3.
                Agreed

this is a quality thread.... i am definitely a fan of C3 but there are some valid points about c2 better lyrically. i think the majority of his songs on c2 have lyrics that make you shake your head.
