  • d4 sound problem

d4 sounds over-compressed and generally awful compared to other wayne tapes. the volume is poppin up and down like crazy, sounds like it was recorded in a tin can. any word on a hi quality version coming out soon? if not, is it possible to make this happen? surely i can't be the only one who wants this! i cringe when i hear that dynamic-less, soulless d4 mix/master. horrible

Everyone has a sound problem with D4, except for Wayne and Drama.

yeah, i figured. it's kind of insulting to the audience to assume that no one give a crap about this. how do you release mixtapes with near CDQ and then pawn off some ish like this

Only song that sounds good in the car is 'No Worries' because we have CDQ. Smh!

Yea if all you havent realized, wayne's been using a different type of microphone+ a pultronic tube or whatever it is. They're not mastering nor mixing the voice to the beat. They just use an mp3/wav of the instrumental, then wayne just records, they save as an mp3, and we got D4!

How come the no dj / clean versions of some d4 tracks Drama released sounded much better??

and if they never was mixed how come we can hear echos?

i use tubes mics in my studio and they sure don't sound like THAT! haha. you can hear the overcompression, whatever they're doing in addition is up for debate. the volume rises and falls intermittently and sounds cheap. it's a shame

Probably because its just a mixtape no need to make it cdq. Mike banger said it was just a rough mix because it was just a mixtape.
