  • david banner & cry out

i posted this within another thread, but i didn't really get a direct answer, so i've decided it warrants a thread of its own! it's two parts. here goes:

#1- were the songs "david banner" and "cry out" recorded as early c3 tracks intended for that album... or were they recorded specifically for lil weezyana? i'm wondering if these songs should technically be included in c3 session compilations. weezy mentions c3 by name in "david banner", so i feel like at the very least this one was intended for the original c3. plus "cry out" used an original beat, right? that wasn't a remix of anything as far as i know. doesn't that indicate it was intended for an album?

#2- now for the second part: why are all the files of these songs such crappy quality? lil weezyana as a whole sounds like the lowliest, crappiest mp3 in the world. the thing is: i could deal with that if there were high-quality mp3s of "david banner" and "cry out"! those are the ones i really want in cdq (or the next best thing). does this exist?!?!

    thanks in advance

The song on Lil Weezy Ana is the official version.

It's a mixtape that was recorded in 2006. It's supposed to sound like that.

If it was going to be an album, then yeah of course, the engineers would work on mastering each song.

Because in most cases, mixtape material content is mixed differently than albums. Exceptions are No Worries, as it is intended for a major album and has two different mixes, and ST4W because that was just a great engineer.

yeah, i get that it was from lil weezyana, but does anyone know if those were actually supposed to be mixed and mastered later on but just weren't? maybe fell by the wayside or something. i only ask because i often see those songs mentioned in lists of c3 sessions songs. they have original beats, so it's conceivable that maybe they were for c3, right?

No they weren't. It's the same with Dedication 4.

Mike Banger (engineer who recorded the songs) tweeted that D4 was supposed to sound like that.

So I'm pretty sure even 6 years ago, Wayne wanted Lil Weezy Ana to sound like it does.
