  • If you could go back in time to your favorite Wayne era, when and why?

I would go back to 2007, specifically the summer of 2007.

That was when Da Drought 3 dropped, and the C3 sessions were leaking like crazy

And I also miss 5th grade lol

I remember seeing my brother smoke everyday after school with his friends

he was always blasting Weezy out the stereo

I remember blasting Wayne out his two 15's in the trunk of his car lol

    those were the good days

I would go back to 2007.

but my brother got his life straight after being lucky to never get arrested lol

he joined the marines so he isn't home anymore

damn i miss when he was in high school and i was in 5th grade lol

Im mainly only posting this because my bro is on leave so he got to visit me and my mom

so I showed him all the Wayne songs I have and we were just reminicing about those days

he was telling all these crazy ass stories he had back in his senior year in 2007 lol

So where you go and why

tell a memory or something that has to do with wayne idk just make it interesting lol

i think everybody knows how wayne was back then, so tell something else other than "wayne was more lyricall during C2" or some shit like that lol

I downloaded shit & played it on my nano all day while I skated. I remember discovering No Ceilings & I thought it was the best thing to ever be put on Earth ahah!

and at the time i didn't even know the actuall tracklist for da drought 3, so i thought songs from the c3 sessions were on da drought 3 lol

I would go back to either 07 or 09. We The Best and No Ceilings are my shit!

And since everyone's talking about when they really started getting into Wayne, it wasn't until summer 2010 for me. I heard a couple of his songs before then, but was more into rock music in middle and high school. Then this chick () senior year (09-10) was into weezy and I got hooked on his shit.

And my 3 semesters of college with blazing fast internet helped me download shit faster.

Didn't even know about drake, nicki, and ym until I heard some guy saying they might perform there (which they didn't, just Nas, Wiz, and Big Sean)

I got into wayne in 2010, but my favourite music from him was from the Carter 3 sessions in 2007. Like... before I actually listened to rap, I thought he sucked because he was mainstream and he used autotune, blah, blah, blah. But then I started to dive deeper into his stuff outside of the singles, specifically music that I heard from the carter documentary (mostly the C3 sessions) and that's when I got hooked. His style and his passion in 2007 was something that others will never know or get.

                  hell yeah

i miss when he was a zombie

just always in his zone high as fuck and leanin on syrup

he didn't like to be bothered and was recording music 24/7

he was always in the studio

Been a Wayne fan since 2005, first time I ever seen him was Neck of The Woods video and I was going crazy 'cause I couldn't believe how ill this nigga was, not even just his bars but his confidence and swag was nuts (nh).. same night I downloaded a bunch of his songs on Limewire (Get Real Gangsta, Please Say The Baby, ect) and I bumped them for a while until Hustler Musik dropped then it was a wrap basically.. I was like this dude is the fucking best.

But my favorite era gotta be Da Drought 3 era man... that shit leaked 'round March/April 2007 when I first moved to Toronto and I used to blast that shit at my cousins house while playing video games every single fucking day. Craziest shit was when the nigga murked that We Takin' Over beat, then took the whole beat and murked that bitch again for his own mixtape admitting he kissed Birdman (song was leaked as "My Daddy"). After this I wikipedia'd him and downloaded all of his shit in full. Drought Is Over 2, We Takin' Over video and Duffle Bag Boy also dropped around that time too, probably my favorite era for music period.

                      Since were doing stories...

I remember I heard fireman in 2005 and I laughed how terrible his lyricism was on that song....little did I know of all his other infamous works of art that coexisted during that time let alone how dope the O.G. version was...I was a hipster and hated hard on Wayne for no apparent reason mainly due to the fact that he was mainstream, but I still listened to his music here and there...

end of 2006 and beginning of 2007 was when I further introduced myself towards him... but all the songs I heard were the wrong examples of his talent like "we takin' over".....I remember fucking with "make it rain" and was like "oh this isn't too bad" even though he was simply on the hook....then later on I stumbled upon "best rapper alive" and "shooter".....these two songs I enjoyed quite a bit...

yet I still made fun of him.....then drought 3 came out....all we bumped was "ride 4 my niggas" because that shit rode HARD, made you feel like you were a king or some shit.........wayne was more or less a tertiary option as far as listening to him compared to my other favorites...I was a huge Nas fan because...well you know why....

eventually I kinda forgot about Wayne's ass....then Carter 3 released with a milli and lollipop........I was like ehh a milli isn't too bad...eventually I stumbled upon 3Peat because the hit singles weren't necessarily appealing ..."run up in a nigga house and shoot his grandmother up"....reminded me of "run up in yo house and shoot everybody that's sitting on the living room sofa"......3Peat made me do a double take "holy shit where have you been my whole life".........for some reason after that I became a stan....and here I am today...

I was all over the place....I enjoyed Wayne the most when No Ceilings came out though...I just wish I discovered ALL of his music dedication 2 era...
