Originally posted by neil.seward View PostDude, I'm not questioning Wayne, as you can see we are on a Wayne forum, and I am a Wayne fan. But you calling Kendrick BS is BS. The guy came out with a fucking amazing album that touched on so many subjects in his album and sought to bring change in an entire city that's dying of thirst.
Now when people like you see my comment saying Kendrick is better than the current Wayne and Wayne is not Kendrick's biggest influence you have to understand why.
1. GKMC is primarily about making out of the ghetto and preaching to see the end of gang violence in Compton. If you believe Wayne was Kendrick's biggest influence, please point out to me an entire song of Wayne's that is about stopping gang violence. I'm sorry but Wayne has never done that on a song. Kendrick also raps a lot about the effects of over indulgence into alcohol and how an entire music industry is selling our daughters through the promotion of liquor. Wayne has never rapped about the need to stop drug and alcohol abuse, and as you being a Wayne fan, you would know that Wayne heavily promotes weed, syrup, and alcohol.
2. Kendrick is influenced by Wayne. There is know doubt that Wayne's flow at times is present in some of Kendrick's songs and Kendrick work ethic has a direct derivation from Wayne's. But Wayne was not Kendrick's largest influence. Saying that is ignorant. Kendrick grew up on the West coast. His biggest influences were Pac, Dre, Snoop, and Game. You can definately see it in his subject matter on his last two albums. Hell he even made a sequel to 2Pac's Shorty's Wanna Be A Thug with his Art of Peer Pressure and made a tribute to Brenda's Got A Baby on Section.80 with Keisha's song.
3. Oh and I know the classic argument of Kendrick remixing the Carter3 with a mixtape. Yes that is a huge indication of fandom, but it is dickriding of sorts. The Carter 3 was released and it was the biggest record in rap since the Masascre, but the effect that it had on the game was not evident until at least 2 years later, same with 808's and Heartbreaks. You don't see Kendrick doing C4, because it was not accepted as big as an album that C3 was and Kendrick had buzz in 11'. It was dickriding and fandom at the same moment. Kendrick needed attention plain and simple.
Wayne is my all time favourite, but Wayne had a larger impact on Kendrick's career through the impact that Wayne had on the mixtape game, not through his lyrics, which in no way does Kendrick try to copy.
Homie you stressin', smoke sumthin'. Let be what it is, I don't like Kendrick, that's just me being me. You like Kendrick, that's just you doing you. We don't have to argue if I don't like an artist in your playlist. I'm here for Wayne, you're here for Wayne, not Kendrick. Sorry if I don't wan' hear about "Kendrick Lamar from the West Coast" on a Wayne Forum. That's just not my vibe & I don't like his voice either. So I can't force myself to listen to it, his voice is part of the music too, so therefore that's what keeps me off his music. Besides I told you I'm from Texas, that's nowhere near my type of music. "Lil Wayne from the Dirty South" is from the bottom of the boot, Luisiana. That's Texas neighbor, so that's why I fuck with Wayne too. Wayne a Real Nigga from the South.
Example: I go for the Spurs & sometimes Rockets & Dallas since they're from Texas, I fucks with Kobe but I don't go for no Lakers.
It's just me doing me, repping where I come from, bumping UGK, that Chopped & Skrewed music, Chamillionaire, Slim Thugga, Paul Wall, Scarface & even my nigga Kirko Bangz. Sure I listen to other Artist & have them on Pandora because I probably like a song or too or maybe an album or two by them, they gained my respect. Meaning, "Yeah, that nigga went in". You see, I'm not a dick rider or a bandwagon type a muthafucka. I rep where I come from. Kendrick ain't nowhere near my area code. It'll take me awhile to like him or I'll just continue to dislike him. & Yeah, I smoke weed, I sip syrup, drink some alcohol & fuck some bad bitches like Wayne because its a south thang. You don't know anything about that. Why? Because your not about that life but because you are not around that life. I'm in the South, in Texas & that's the thang to do when you rep where you're from. You from Canada & probably like Drizzy, & that's fuckin' Cool 'cause Drake bites off from the South. Let me sugar coated for your sentimental ass, he respects the south for what it did & does.
Look son, in this World not everyone is going to like what you like & you gon' have to put up with it or speak your feelings out like a bitch.
I'm explaining shit too you, so you know I'm keeping it real because that's what the forum is for, discussing. But we're getting off topic just because you really don't like the fact I don't like Kendrick Lamar. & Don't reply with a bs ass comment trying to swerve it around. It's over, I told you this debate was over the last time. What'chu fuzzin' for? Oh 'cause I don't agree with you on Kendrick, on a Wayne forum. Yeah that's why. C'mon nigga this is ignorance at its best.Last edited by @LILTONECHI; 03-13-2013, 05:09 AM.

I don't really care if you don't like Kendrick, you're missing out, but that's your thing. My main thing is you're claiming you know who Kendrick's biggest influences are, when you clearly say you aren't a fan of him.
And don't think that because I'm from Canada, that I'm soft and don't smoke weed, drink and fuck. I am going to try syrup when I get my hands on it, but because the drug isn't as common as it is up here as it is down south, I can't do it and I have to mess around with pills instead.Last edited by Bill Laimbeer; 03-13-2013, 08:03 AM.

@neil.seward
Either way that's still a personal opinion which I believe is highly noticeable such as other new artists in the game right now. I'aint missing out on anything. & I'm not a Fan, but you at least know I scanned though some of his songs & album to see what was the hype about. It simply didnt amaze me they way it amazed you & others because like I said, I know my Hip Hop, that's what I aspire to work in. I already do as Underground Music everyday, but have not released material publicly since I'm waiting for the right body of work & sound. I study this shit & that's why I come here to see what's the feedback from Wayne's Fans on what he does, what they'll feed on. I'm not trying to argue with you or disrespect you in any way. You being a Kendrick Lamar fan & discussing with me gives me feedback as well, we'll because that let's me know what y'all feed on. Therefore I used that information for my music & lyricism. So it's like your talking to another artist, I'm going to go by my music standards & judge the artist you like, not jam out to his music unless I like the song. One song I do like by Kendrick Lamar is HiiiPower, due to the message he is trying to bring across but if you are in the Music Industry that's not the subject you want to be speaking of to the public. Look how Tupac & Pimp C ended. I don't see this from a Fan point of view, but as an artist, there's far more to what your Favorite Rapper is saying. Even Wayne has touched onto these topics resulting the sentence he served in jail. It's the game they talk about all the time. Believe me or not, but if you do know Kendrick Lamar's music, you'd know what's he's talking about in that song & you might have a clue do to the visual. Only a fool would deny these allegations & they're plenty fools that will. Every Artist in the Game is aware of this & any new upcoming Artist should be aware of this. He's not as bad as I may make it seem by what I say, he has talent that's why he's known, but doesn't amaze me. If I could i would show you my music so you can see why he doesn't amaze me but its just a Competitive Point of View from another Artist, but that would be silly 'cause this is a silly argument & not professional at all. Believe me if someone were to interview me & ask me about what I think about Kendrick I would still reply in a Cometitive Fashion & would ask them to go download my Mixtape with me Frestyling Over his Drank & HiiiPower,(since Slim Thug hopped on Drank too & because HiiiPower had a message I usually talk about subliminally or in complex metaphors & the beat by J.Cole was nice) but not the way I answered you. Texas has been quite for awhile in the game right now, except for Kirko but he ain't lyrical at all, could make some tunes, but no complicated wordplay HipHopHeads love. So with my music I need to make an impact & know what to do because like I said I saw Wayne's career blossom & went back & did my reaserch & studied Old School Hip Hop. To me that's the greatest advice one needs, it's all online for you to study to become great, music is everywhere now because of the Internet. How Wayne to any other artist like Kendrick, their Coming Up in the game has been studied. If they can do it, why can't I or you. That's how I looked at it when I was 13 & decided I wanted to do this because I saw Wayne doing what he does, how he was back then, his attitude, approach to music was inspiring to me. I had to do it too, I'm still doing it now. I would be a fool not to use my talent when I'm around where UGK & every other artist good or bad from Texas came up. I'm trying to be the new Pimp C mixed with what I have to bring just like how Wayne did him & claims to be the New Pac. Sorry for another book I just thought you deserved a respectful answer so you would hopefully understand.Last edited by @LILTONECHI; 03-14-2013, 05:37 AM.

It shows I spend less time on here than you. I came back 4 days later & replied to you after logging in. I suppose that does show plenty "my friend".
& I just said you were a Soft Ass Canadian, aren't you Canadian? Be proud of where you from.
