Why everything was about Wayne and C3 back in 08 ?

Wayne managed to become "the best rapper alive" and jumped on a whole new level , 5 years ago...with Tha Carter 3. I aint know the story of course , why everybody was so excited about his record? was it because of A Milli? Lollipop? I see that even other rappers had lines about Lil Weezy!
"Yall wait on wayne to drop C3 I drop C4" -said K.Dot (he now is the new wonder of hiphop btw , but thats another story)

Point is , what happened and Wayne made it big back then ?

It was because of carter 1 and 2 and because of his two year mixtape flood. he built up the hype around himself in the biggest way possible and motherfucker was hanging on every word waitin to see what he would drop next. then finally he dropped c3, which was just an unreal moment where all the planets and stars aligned in weezy's universe. c3 was that perfect moment between the drought 3 lyrical genius and the auto-tuned spaceman which would further develop in the months that followed. he had the world by its balls. listen to the c3 sessions and you can trace the whole thing for yourself.... it's one of the best bodies of music in the world.

I also don't think Wayne planned his success.

Everything just worked out in his favor.

Everything was done right when it came to promoting carter 3. Especially the singles, lollipop and got money for the radio and A milli for the streets meaning something for his real fans cuz you know we love when he just raps the whole time no chorus mixtape style.

And songs were being leaked left and right at one point like I feel like Dying, Something you forgot, pussy money weed, etc. which showed his diversity and solidified his place at the top.
