  • How Little Wayne Will be Remembered....

I was watching Kanye and Jay perform "Otis" on VMA's the other day, then right after I watched Lil Wayne's VMA performance when he did "John" and "HTL"...

I realized that Wayne loves rap but he's much more of just a cultural icon than just a rapper. I think he realized his potential to be bigger than rap after C3 sold a million.. and I think everyhting he's done besides rap since then is him searching for a bigger spot.

When we see other huge rappers, theyre just rappers. But with Wayne he's just Wayne. Him and Kanye have this aura about them that extends into other fields and genre's.

I think one day his rapping, skating, rocking etc persona's will all come together and make one huge icon in pop culture.

Everything that Wayne tries out ends up being popular or the new trend. Ahead of his time for sure. To be a cultural icon now is difficult with the popularity of the internet. Every bored hater has a voice to influence those who haven't had a chance to see most of Wayne's real work and impact. The thing holding back the majority from respecting Wayne is just a natural resistance to change.

He already is way more than just hip hop. But Ye and Jay-Z are too. Wayne has just extended himself in MUSIC farther than Ye/Jay by reaching to different genres, etc. And he's just now starting to extend into things outside of music....regardless...he's a pop culture legend whether people wanna admit it or not.

              Wayne has balls man.

He straight out claimed the title of best rapper alive.

He had such street cred in the rap game and at his height he decides to try something that no rapper has ever done before and dive right into making a rock album, knowing he would get a huge amount of flack for it.

And then again he has balls when he publicly starts skateboarding all the time when rappers never 100% committed to skating. Sure Lupe made a song about it back in 06, but there hasn't ever been such a large rapper as Wayne to commit so much time publicly into it.

I think with the Carter 5 we will see Wayne in a whole different light as well, we just don't know what with.

I would much rather see a Kanye and Wayne album tbh than any Drake collabo or Juelz (don't hate) just because Kanye and Wayne are just pure legends of today's generation of rap.

I think it's just as important that he did it again 3 YEARS after. That shit is crazy... Dropping rock albums, getting locked up etc. but to still show he had that big of a impact years later is crazy.

                      Sho is.

He'll probably do it again tbh. Be funny if he did.. After his so called "fall off" that all the blogs are reporting right now. If he sells another milli they'll blame it on illuminati

absolutely agree with both of you

Wayne's just ahead of his time.. People are too quick judging other people so they don't take their time thinking about the things he's doing and why

I mean he dropped an rock-album and got a lot hate for it even tho it's a dope ass album (or let's say an album with depth, you can't deny that) but don't think about the fact why he did it. Your favourite rapper doesn't even have the guts to do that (same goes for skating as neil. already said)

He wants to be bigger and better, not for the money but for the sake of music/him being remembered as the huge complex artist that he is

I mean you know it's true, watch the Carter Doc and now look at IANAHB II. It's exactly what he wanted to do

It's just hard for people to think out of the box and without categories of just rappers and just singers etc
They can't get used to new things without judging it first

For example, nowadays it seems like they all sippin' lean and it's cool and people even want him back on syrup and shit
But back then he had huge controversies and many were talking about it negatively

                        (sry if bad english)
