been thinking this week about early c4 sessions era and i really feel that is one of the most interesting wayne periods ever - in fact the only thing better than it may be c3 sessions/drought 3 era weezy. those 2008-2010 recordings absolutely overflow with the illest fucking energy... even some of the rebirth leftovers like "yeah" and "spit" are amazing. sometimes i think that might even be his true peak. he literally was the best in the game and at that point the whole world knew it because c3 was a monster hit. just untouchable!
c4 is alright, but it's nothing compared to what he was doing in the few years before he got sent away. i always wish he'd put out c4 before prison and it contained songs like no quitter, told y'all, etc. it would've been pure genius; the natural extension of the spaced out c3 sound. if you could make a hypothetical c4 album of that period's best tracks, what would be on it? full tracklists please.
