Let's be real, almost all of Wayne's work since he got out of jail sucks or is meh. I still like his music but it's not special anymore, almost all his tracks sounds the same (the way he raps, what he raps). I miss songs Dr. Carter or Let The Beat Build, those were amazing (imo). I feel like he doesn't really reinvents himself anymore (like Kanye does) and makes real good quality hip-hop that's really sounds like something fresh or new (like his proteges Drake and Nicki are able to). I also don't like that he's dropping D5 because I feel like he should take a break from rap for a long time to get inspiration for C5 or albums that'll come before that, like his 'love' album.

why so many thread like this? why we question every time the abillity of wayne? if the man wants he'll make it a classic , if he just plays he'll make a ianahb ii with no promotion at all.
but it's funny that wayne has already raised talk about c5 even before he starts recording it. Genious~

Lil Wayne names the producers on his I Am Not A Human Being II album and says it is like a Tha Carter V album. He also says his very last album before he retires is going to be Tha Carter V.

I remember him saying it sounded like a Tha Carter album. Maybe C4 but that one was pretty disappointing too.
