I tried makin this thread in the past but it died out pretty quick, but there seems to be a lotta people on this forum who are interested in this subject so lets try and keep this shit goin! This thread is just to discuss your feelings & thoughts on Wayne's autotune usage throughout the years. Personally my favorite music from him is when he's usin autotune, so let's discuss!

Sounds dope man i think it could have been ment for "Luv Sawngz"... See to be honest i dont think i'll like "Devol" if its songs like "Romance" but if Devol sounds like the "Luv Sawngz" leftovers (Califonria Girls, Thinkin' Of You, Staring At The World etc) then it should be dope as fuck

i agree 100% with everything you just said. i liked romance, i just wish the autotune was stronger and the lyrics were a lil different lol. but yea if devol sounds like what luv sawngz was supposed to sound like then im gonna love that shit.

i feel the same man,, hopefully Devol will be another Rebirth with songs like paradice, Die For You aswell... You heard the first version of "You Da Shit" with autotune ? then it was released later on again and detail said it had no autotune ?

fuckkk yea dude!! if devol sounds like rebirth ESPECIALLY songs like paradice & die for you then i will whyyyyyle the fuck out. and yeah dude that shit pissed me off so bad the original sounds SO much better than the "non-autotuned" version. detail is full of shit and you know how i know this? ive been using autotune for the past 6 years...but ive also used a program called melodyne. there may be no autotune...but melodyne is very similar to autotune but smoother and more graphical when it comes to correcting notes. so wayne's voice is still clearly edited...you can fuckin hear it. and detail said the same shit about how to love not being autotuned.

101% agree with you man!, even the "non autotuned" version sounds autotuned haha never knew about that Melodyne thing tho but i knew he used some sort of vocal effect for How To Love because when he sings it live he needs an autotuned mic like when he sang it at the 2011 VMA's

lmao exactly! when i heard detail say it was not autotuned i was so angry. just cuz it doesnt have autotune on it dont mean there isnt some other form of pitch correcting software on it...and yeah dude i know!! he cant sing that shit live without it lmao. but let's put it this way, you can hear the editing when his voice goes up or down, it's smoother than autotune, but not smooth enough.

Yeah i see what you mean bro hahah,, what was the effect used on his voice for "Feel Like Dying" "Prostitute Flange 1" & "It's Been A Week" it doesnt really sound like autotune its hard to explain if you know what i mean ?

on those songs, he uses a very strong reverb, and what is called a "flanger" effect. it makes the voice sound synthesized, for lack of a better word...but there is no pitch correction. if there was pitch correction it would be autotune, but reverb & flanger are basic just vocal effects.

Bro, I am just new in dat business but it's cool fro me cos I knew almost every effect you said. I'm useing mixcraft 6 which has a lot Plug-ins already in it. I just downloaded 30 days trial melydone and just trying to figure out some things. BTW I am going to make a mixtape. Like in the winter or so. Right now I'm writing Verses and choseing songs. So if you will have some free time can you help me with last mixing? I mean will you be my DJ Drama lol we can even make song together with your verse. It will be cool. let me know what you think.
