Wayne is a versatile ass rapper, the most versatile in the rap game and nobody is seeing him with that. He could easily pump out a love song for Drake's emotional ass if he wanted to lol, that "You Song" verse could easily fit on one of Drake's love songs. You could literally get anything out of Wayne, so to say that he won't "fit" in a Drake album is absurd honestly speaking.

And I dare you to fuckin call me a dickrider my nigga. You cannot fucking tell me that if Drake hit up Wayne and told him the subject or meaning behind a song he wants Wayne on, that Wayne wouldn't easily do it? All Drake needs to say "Wayne could you do a verse for me? The song is about a breakup and thats what I want the whole song to be about. Thanks" And Wayne could pump that out in a night. It's a matter of asking, if he isn't given a criteria he'd either rap what comes to mind or rap what he feels "matches" the beat. If it's a trap beat, Wayne most likely will include guns, bloods, etc.

It's hard to comment on Wayne's "style as of late" because it's hard to trace what his actual style is. If we get insane shit like Levels, No Ceilings shit like Cream, Da Drought 3 shit like Still Got That Rock, deep shit like You Song, and then sub-par/average shit like New Slaves... it's hard to even trace or say where he's at right now.
