Got a soft spot for NC cuz when it dropped this friend of mine threw party's for like a week straight and had that shit on loop. It was the last time I saw a majority of people agreeing that a Wayne project was great
top 3 is hard to decide with DD3, D2, SQ7, Suffix, NC, etc.
and D5 deserves to have a much better competition when deciding which is better
D5 vs NC/S4TW/D3 are the closest things that could be used in this imo
also if you compare Cream to a song on No Ceilings, it p much fits in perfectly
but then you got songs like Levels, You Song, Still Got That Rock, etc. >>>>
D5 feels like a mix between mixtape/album.. mainly cause of the way the skits/mixing went and a big part actually was when Chuckee got his own track.. it was like a story/movie and I was able to imagine him literally hopping in studio to do that as Wayne went off somewhere and tried to finish before he came back
that was a nice touch
Be honest, D5 has 3 above average songs, compared to NC every track brought heat. NC was named mixtape of the year by so many people
Devoted an entire mixtape due to his self perceived "talent decline"...went to the extent of writing his lyrics as well, which hadn't happened since the SQAD era.. The current realization/apologetic reaction was post D5 release.. Like I've said though...D5 is a start to a new beginning.. I'm favoring an era as opposed to the actual tapes in a sense..
i dont see how that any different then what just happened,
he had already been working on d5 for months when that tweet came out,
and when you look at the beat selection and size of the tape,
id have to say hes considerably hungry, he'd have to be,
in order to make a tape this size, w as many strong performances as he has.
hes more aggressive on this tape, than hes been on anything in years, his writing is all around better..
i dont believe no ceilings saw wayne writing, which makes little to no difference to his process.
the guys been writing/making music professionally for way too long, for it to matter.
which makes me feel like dedication 5 is much more concentrated effort,
everything about d5, has to be considered w the bulk of the tape, nc was what? 12 songs?
and maybe a little over a quarter of the songs, were absolute standouts, everything else was mehh,
on dedication 5, he's consistently strong on everything, and hes ambitious w his beat selection.
and its thirty tracks deep? and a note on the beat selection...
maybe we can complain that they arent the original beats, but this guy wanted to rap over these beats so bad, that he didnt mind rapping over remakes, wayne wanted to go in.
no ceilings just saw him rap over the radio poppy shit, dedication 5, has a lot more variety and density..
and really the writing on dedication 5>>> isnt even close.
overall, i just ran through no ceilings again the otherday.
and besids the tracks that everyone loves, its gotta be dedication 5 by a mile. im like 100 percnet sure its not close.

No Ceilings had 21 tracks BTW, 3 skits 18 tracks total.
Dedication 5 had 29, 3 songs he wasn't on, 6 interludes, only 20 songs Wayne was on total.
D5 is great, but NC still has remnants of the d2/dd3 flow. that's mostly gone these days (except cream, fuckin problems, you song) instead replaced by the new flow. It's definitely a step in the right direction, but I can't honestly tell myself it's even close to NC. funny thing is, i kinda thought it could be... til I threw on NC and was like ok no way this shit is still unreal.
Don't worry though. He'll be off probation in a couple of months and he will fix all the problems. If ever there was a person in the world who NEEDS WEED, i think our man weezy is that man.
