Who hear actually listened to Wayne in his prime in 07
bro that's exactly how it was, especially from like January to all through summer, I woke up everyday, would always find some new shit on limewire, and think about it... there wasn't any Kendrick Lamars, Drakes, or anybody else... it was just Wayne, fuckin crazy
I been a wayne fan since '99, I was 8 years old the first time I saw him with the hot boyz and he just stood out to me ever since. I liked how he was the youngest and smallest in the group because I was always small and had braids like he did so he was automatically my fave out the group. Seeing him become one of the biggest artist in the world made me proud as a day one fan.
i was like 11 these days , i didnt even have an internet connection and only rap things i knew were some bullshit from my country (we all liked them back then though) , eminem, snoop dogg,50 cent and some others. the music channels didn't play him (it was 2008 and lollipop that made me notice wayne in these channels)
so i wasnt able to actually listen to wayne back then...damn.
I've always liked Wayne the most out of the Hot Boys, because I was young and he was the only one I could tell was actually a kid(Turk and BG didn't look young, IMO). I was like... In the 2nd or 3rd grade. Idk. Long time ago.
Anyway, I didn't really know any songs of his until I heard him on Ether in like the 4th grade. That was the first time I'd ever heard Ether from anyone, and I kept hearing the Fuck Jay part. Threw me off a bit, but I liked it. Whenever I saw him, I'd watch, but I didn't keep up with his albums or mixtapes. My favorite rappers at that time were Ludacris and Eminem.
Then I'd say like... 6th grade I heard Get Something. Loved it. Followed him ever since. Became my favorite rapper during that time. I used to bump Trance and Soldier all the time.
Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.
