  • Do you think Wayne would widely be considered one of the best if he was an NY rapper?

I mean when he first came out and he was so irrefutably talented people wanted to act like he was garbage just because he was from the South, but any NY rapper who has the slightest bit of talent (ahem Juelz) turns out to be overrated as fuck when they're not shit. I remember a lot of people used to say, Wayne like all southern rappers is garbage, blindly ignoring obvious talent.

But if he would've been from New York and got famous, he'd arguably have a bigger reputation than Jay-Z IMO. What do you think?

he IS one of the best, don't think that would change the mind of the people if he is from ny or holygroove there are other reasons why wayne is hated by many people

I already know he is one of the best. Wayne is hated for a lot of reasons, but Carter 1, Carter 2 days where they couldn't use the excuse like too mainstream, or a selling out, and Wayne was just raw talent in his prime, people just hated him. That's why he made the song Shooter. People have a tendency to overrate rappers from up North, and there is this common belief that the south destroyed hip-hop, and that's why a lot of southern rappers get blind hate.

Lil Wayne's career/music/sound/ everything about him would be different if he was from NY. So you can't really compare it

          Why pick on somebody helpless

no cause he is the best, it don't matter where he is from.

but if he was from New York, more people would be like hip hop only has talent from the north.

maybe this was when he released c2 but i don't think the haters would say something different today, they would go on critisizing his pussy lyrics, his autotune and so on, you can't shut all the haters up, but why you care bout the haters? all i have to say is "if you hatin you just need some pussy"

Does that mean Lil Wayne would be saying fuck New Orleans instead of New York too ?

But if he was from New York then we probably wouldve never got classic tracks like Dear Summer, Georgia Bush and Tie My Hands. Otherwise yeah i dont feellike he would be considered better perhaps but who knows.
