Do you think Wayne would widely be considered one of the best if he was an NY rapper?

I mean when he first came out and he was so irrefutably talented people wanted to act like he was garbage just because he was from the South, but any NY rapper who has the slightest bit of talent (ahem Juelz) turns out to be overrated as fuck when they're not shit. I remember a lot of people used to say, Wayne like all southern rappers is garbage, blindly ignoring obvious talent.

But if he would've been from New York and got famous, he'd arguably have a bigger reputation than Jay-Z IMO. What do you think?

Wayne is hated for a lot of reasons, but Carter 1, Carter 2 days where they couldn't use the excuse like too mainstream, or a selling out, and Wayne was just raw talent in his prime, people just hated him. That's why he made the song Shooter. People have a tendency to overrate rappers from up North, and there is this common belief that the south destroyed hip-hop, and that's why a lot of southern rappers get blind hate.
