..."when C4 (2011) did not live up to the hype."

D3 (200 is too soon. He was changing at that time but he still managed to drop an amazing Mixtape, No Ceilings (2009) afterwards but because he knew he had too if he was going to release Rebirth. He knew Rebirth, (2010) wasn't going to be accepted the same way as his previous projects. But to me, Rebirth just wasn't an experiment more than it was a phase, but a career move. He wasn't just gon' release another rap album after the incredible amount of success C3 did for him. (He had to top "Lollipop", not lyrically speaking but mainstream wise. He had to come out with a bigger hit than "Lollipop" to sell another million copies in the first week, that's why you get How To Love on C4, that was his "Lollipop" type of single for C4.)

But when he went to jail, that slowed him down a lot even with the pre-recorded features he had coming out, other rappers started to follow the same footsteps as Lil Wayne. Remember we are still in 2010, but a new generation of rappers were emerging and thus, a New Era of Hip-Hop. IANAHB (2010) was realesed with "Right Above It" as a single, along with the already on "No Ceilings" single, "I'm Single". Due to the fact it was release while he was in jail and became the only rapper since Tupac to release a #1 Album while being incarcerated. It has to be acknowledge as an accomplishment and as a Wayne fan in that time, it wasn't something to hate on since you knew that it was an album consisted of C4 cuts, so it was just cool to get new music from him, especially an album.

Once he got out of jail, still in 2010, he now had all eyes on him, people wanted to see a hungrier Wayne, they wanted to see his comeback, not a comeback in his career, but his comeback after his incarceration. People were analyzing everything about him, from his music, to swagger, to how his voice sounded sober. But with Wayne's return, people started comparing his new music to the music he did before he went to jail (Sober Wayne vs Wayne on Drugs), birthing the "Wayne Fell Off" comments.

From 2010 - 2011 Wayne was on hot songs, "Fire Flame", "Look At Me Now", "Hustle Hard", "Motivation", "Welcome To My Hood", "I'm On One" & many more. He released "Sorry 4 The Wait" (2011) which was okay too because it was just a Mixtape for us to jam while we waited for C4 and C4 already had singles out, "How To Love", "John" and "6'7".

So the problem is, well was, the fact that Wayne gave out too much music in the meantime he preparared us for C4 and raised the bar too high for himself to outdo himself previously as well as for the expectations his fans and the world had for him. You can love an say C4 was great and that's great or you can say that you hate it, and that's great too. But the fact is Wayne did not meet the expectations we had for him on C4, he didn't deliever what we expected he would, a better album than C3, C2 or C1. It was a fail attempt to outdo C3 with the same C3 formula, hence the "A Milli on Steroids" which was "6'7". Wayne was progressing as an artist throuout his career, and throughout the Carter albums C1-C3 (2004- 200, he started to dominate Hip-Hop and C4 (2011) marks the end of that run. After C4 you could start to see the lack of interest and creativity in his music very clearly.

At this point you can no longer doubt he fell off or hope he'll deliver music like how he used to. His last solid project was No Ceilings. 2 years ago. (Speaking in a 2011 perspective. 4 years in today's time)

So the exact date that Lil Wayne fell off was, 8/29/2011. It was all downhill from there, nobody could take him serious as "The Best Rapper Alive" anymore and Lil Wayne did hold that tittle for a while but gave it up for grabs when C4 (2011) did not live up to the hype.

                    2009 - 2010

We stil got some pretty good leaks , but it was the year(s) that Wayne started to slip
There were still some dope features as well, but Wayne slowly became a parody of himself

                    Drake signed to YM

Projectwise we got NC, WAYM, Rebirth and IANAHB

                    - NC
was fire but still showed some decline
"Your flow never wet like grandmas pussy"

overall i feel like it gets too much credit

                    - WAYM
he started to dress fruity with them big ass glasses etc
his voice became wack ("thinned out", dunno how to describe it)
                    weak verses

                    - Rebirth
ill let this one pass , this was his experimental project
                    had Drop the world (Y)

                    - IANAHB
                    absolutely shit

It was definitely after C4 was released. Anytime from there to D5 was a rough time. Now things are looking up
