(as a fan, it just goes to show, how even on auto pilot, he can stumble into some pretty cool shit)

but critically, he lost ground to kendrick, drake, and kanye.

they all give the impression of moving forward w their music, theyre advancing one way or another.

whether you liked yeezus or not, theres no way to accuse kanye of going stale.

and wayne for many people has gone stale. the unfortunate part.. and outside of 2008, and the time since then, where his popularity has peaked, its always been like this; where people, for the most part, miss the best wayne.

and i think thats why D5 gets slept on. dedication 5 is a great project, especially considering the context of his career.

noooo one, makes a project like dedication 5 this late in their career. its like jay z making reasonable doubt all over again.

but people are so ready to accept the idea that anything wayne puts out post 2009, is sure to be garbage.

even when a project like dedication 5 is staring them in the face.

its a shame i think, but it fits right along w the career narrative that hes always had,

one where hes overrated by a large group of people(mostly for the wrong reasons) and vastly underrated by everyone else.

but if anything, this year, dedication 5 especially, showed me that wayne is all time great.

i knew it before, but hes really something else. even between the albums dropped this year.

    yeezus, mchg, nwts...

i thought yeezus and dedication 5.. held sooooo much more weight.. than the other two projects.. just from an artistry stand point.

its wayne and kanye >> head andshoulders above most everybody for the past 10 years..

but waynes gotta prove.. that hes moving forward again.. if he wants to regain relevancy w everyone.

and not just the old heads.. that know good wayne when they hear it.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but then you mentioned the Jay Z comparison and killed your own credibility. D5 seems very over rated on this forum. Its decent by Weezy standards of late but pales in comparison to his better work. It has 6 decent songs at best and you try to say its like Jay Z coming up with another Reasonable doubt? No, just... No!
Speaking the REAL truth, the WHOLE truth and NOTHING but the TRUTH....Schooling niggas since 1920.....Exposing the fake fans, stans and annes since 2013. Fuck all Ya'll

I just don't understand why he doesn't get talked about as much no more. I barely hear anybody mentioning D5. Its like they forgot all about it

theres a huge difference in his performance on dedication five, compared to his previous maybe 5 releases? dating back to no ceilings at least. so we're talkign 2009. thats 4 years already,

2008 is the carter 3 era.. and he had some performances on dedication five that would favor comparably to some of the ones on c3.

im not saying this elite wayne, but after years of music that didnt sound like original wayne, but some manufactured, post assembly carbon copy..

and then hear how live he sounded on dedication 5.. is a huge reach into his old bag..

maybe reasonable doubt... is too much of a reach.. but my point is.. you wouldnt expect jay to rap w as much vigor.. as he had on those early albums.. not this late in his career.

wayne sounded legitimately re energised in year 19? 20?

hes like kobe bryant or something.

Wayne's name doesn't get brought up much in discussions nowadays. I guess it's cuz he's not on the radio/TV atm. But that's cuz he's on break. As soon as he gets featured on another single his relevancy is gonna come back. btw when is the last time Wayne did an interview?

@MORO551 cool sig, is that his pet?

thats what I've been asking myself for the past months right now. i don't see people talikin about weezy as much as they did. They don't even talk about him falling of or anything as they use to. his fan base is pretty solid as we all know but we also know that Tune has been slowing down lately. I live in Miami and tbh Wayne isn't on the radio as much as he used to be! Before it would be Wayne most of the time but know its Rozay Drake and all that other shit. No offense to Drake fans or Rozay fan I really enjoy them both but I'm really getting a feeling that Wayne really slowed down like a lot and it really makes me sad cause like we all got use to him being the best (Not saying that he still isn't). And tbh I don't think its the skateboarding or anything. Idk people change. And i bet its hard for every Weezy F Baby fan to see Wayne slow down.

I really miss this Lil Wayne tho

I get the point your trying to make bro, and thanks for making a good post (unlike some lol) I'd say he's reaching into his C4 bag of tricks more than his C3 bag, C3 was some GOAT shit... Like I said, in my opinion D5 is over rated, just goes to show how stale Weezy's music has become - he releases a half decent mix tape and people think he's back to his normal self.
