My favorite Wayne is when he raps that raw street shit. Which Da Drought had, i also prefer OG over beat jacking. The song Da Drought is his most underrated song lyrically, and the best song in the series.
IMO, DD3 although a real good tape is over-rated. I say that because it came out at start of his undisputed dominance. Musically its top heavy and has plenty of songs worth skipping.

I can't lie overall off memory, i liked Da Drought over DD2 when i first had them and DD1 was definitely something different from Wayne from the production and style of songs and they were OG. DD2 was solid though i think DD1 was better overall but i gotta give them both another listen...

Just re-listened to Check one, two and it is definitely flow-rific and sounds as good as any rappers flow today-- amazing.
