My name is John and I have a blog at www.Boosieflier.wordpress.com which discusses the current situation surrounding the new LiL Wayne cd, "Tha Carter V". If you read the flier I have posted on the blog you'll see where I have been working to create a direct competition between LiL Boosie's "Touchdown To Cause Hell" and LiL Wayne's "Tha Carter V" cd on December 9th.
I want to use this threat to update everyone on what's going on. I won't post any more thread messages but I just want everyone to be familiar with what's going on with this situation. Basically, around the end of October, I was able to pursue LiL Wayne's record label, Universal Music Group, do delay his album from it's October 28th to December 9th. I was never in cahoots with Wayne's label, it's just, they must have seen this LiL Boosie vs. LiL Wayne competition as something good for the music business and decided to go with the idea.
Now, here is where things get interesting. Even though I was able to get Universal Music Group to schedule LiL Wayne's cd for December 9th, LiL Boosie's label, Atlantic, refused to allow Boosie's cd to be released on that date. In fact, just 2 days ago Atlantic issued a statement saying that Lil Boosie's "Touchdown" cd would be released in February, 2015. So obviously we have some conflicts and contradictions going on here as far as when Boosie's cd is going to drop. Atlantic is currently saying February, 2015 and I'm still saying December 9th, 2014.
Here is what I need everyone in the thread to know. Unless Atlantic Records allows the new LiL Boose cd "Touchdown To Cause Hell" to be released on December 9, 2014 then LiL Wayne's label, Universal Music Group, is going to permanently cancel the release of the LiL Wayne "Tha Carter V" cd. I do not speak for Universal Music Group but I am just wanting to let everyone know where things stand.
Sincerely,
John R.

PS: I have some emails listed on my blog if anyone wants to follow up with questions about this matter. I realize that leaving telephone numbers on the internet is a bit tacky but in order to make sure that everyone knows that what I'm typing here is serious business, I am going to leave the telephone number for one of the parties I have listed as an executive producer on the new Boosie cd. His name is Alphonzo Bailey aka AL Kapone. Some of you may remember AL as one of the pioneering hip-hop artists out of Memphis while some of you may know him as the person who wrote the "Whoop That Trick" song on the "Hustle and Flow" movie. If anybody on this thread wants to contact AL to discuss this matter in detail, please feel free to contact him, at my request, at 1-901-878-9208.
PPS: I really hope things get resolved so that both the LiL Boosie and LiL Wayne cd's can be released on December 9th!
