Not to knock current Jay, but current Jay and Beyonce are corporate puppets, where Wayne just simply isn't.

I kinda agree with Chris. Ion't think Moment is bad or anything but shit... It doesn't really get me hype for C5. I think it's on the album, but that doesn't anger me. Every album has songs I don't necessarily bother going to. It DOES give me hope for his content/subject matter tho. D5 made me think, "well maybe he's getting it..." and Moment makes me think, "OK, I'm pretty sure he knows."
We get it bruh, you fuck bitches and eat em out. Kool. You can do metaphors, smilies, and punchlines. Awesome. Now how about trying to dig a lil deeper? Just to prove you still can. Not that I doubt it, but it seems the internet has given everyone a short memory span. Which is ironic.
Moment is a good start. Now mix in some of those witty punchlines and creative flows with some substance without bouncing from one subject to the next and I'll be more hype than everyone here.
Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.

ive never agreed w the idea that substance means he cant bounce around....
im generally pretty glad he doesnt rap about the same thing for 16 bars in a row...its a more vivid experience when hes bouncing around.. and hes so good at getting to the point in each bar.. that i feel like his work is substantial..
its nice to hear him focused too... dont get me wrong...
but ive never been a huge fan of the whole.. wayne doesnt make sense, doesnt rap about anything, just cos he bounces from subject to subject..
if that was the case.. hed be a lot more like 80% the rappers out there, but theres obviously something in his rhymes, that we can recognise as weight.. in order to listen so many times..
its like the difference between him and someone like cassidy..

Even Let The Beat Build is good enough for me.

those are big tunes, im sure hell have something like that...
i think hes had a few songs better than let the beat build tho..
i think moment kinda hints at that direction, that feels different than anything on d5, but he ws still rapping on it..
but man, i dont think hes gonna go back to anything as organic as lalala shooter and hustla musik,
thatd be wild.. maybe tho? thugs cry kinda opens a door for that..
