Honestly, at this point I think the promotion strategy is literally "no promotion". Keep quiet, let out a few FIRE features, and let the quality of the album sell itself. First week sales are cool on paper but I would rather get a classic album that only sells 600,000 first week and a million in 3 weeks any day.

well yeah, but let's be honest, sales ain't what they used to be back in '08 or '09 and Tha Carter III has sold around 4 milli since it release so no way it's gonna go 3x platinum so fast if it goes 3x platinum at all. MMLP2 2,2milli in US since last november and it is best selling album rap album 2013-2014
