how hard is it to understand and how much more in detail do you need it ?? He's not saying the pants are what made " the mass " buy it but truth be told next day c4 drops and Wayne's name is all over blogs news and Internet showing his performance and the pants that stirred up people and made memes and headlines that' they're his Wayne's name back in the media.
