Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's mainly shipping? Like, how many albums are actually shipped first week? Most of the copies ppl buy have already been counted towards sales figures, cause they've been purchased by the intermediaries, like best buy etc. once they sell out, they need to re order, and more are shipped.

Is this right or am I mistaken? Anyone with knowledge?

Lol they have to actually ship it to somewhere that's bought it. Like, you can't just ship 5 million copies to best buy and leave it on their doorstep, they have to actually pay for it first, and they're only going to order what they think they can sell

The first week sales counts from the release date on, not before that.

its actually an incredible effort.. It even outsold the Frozen soundtrack first week, which is crazy. It's at least 600k more than what you'd expect which is just crazy. I don't think there's an artist in the world who could do numbers like that first week now.. Maybe Jay and Beyonce double disc?
