Hey everyone:
I posted a message a little while ago but it got deleted as soon as it got posted so I'm going to try again and we'll see if maybe my post will stick this time. THIS WILL BE MY ONLY THREAD POST TO THE SITE.
Okay. I just wanted to write and let everyone know that I have a blog posted at www.Boosieflier.wordpress.com which discusses the situation surrounding LiL Wayne's new cd, "Tha Carter V". I realize everyone reading this thread may not have time to look my blog over in it's entirety so what I'm going to do is give a synopsis in this thread as to how that blog relates to LiL Wayne.
Basically, here is the deal. I worked and worked (along with the assistance of many others) to create a LiL Boosie vs LiL Wayne cd competition on December 9, 2014. Simply put, both of those artists would have their cd's released on that date. LiL Boosie's new cd is titled "Touchdown To Cause Hell" and LiL Wayne's cd is titled "Tha Carter V". Anyhow, I was encouraging everyone to purchase Boosie's cd (as opposed to Wayne's). If you look at the flier I have posted about half-way down my blog you will see where I am encouraging people to purchase 3 times as many copies of Boosie's cd during their first week of release.
Now, I realize this is an unofficial LiL Wayne message board and I realize me jumping on this board talking about a LiL Boosie cd may seem a bit misplaced. Personally, I think it is important for LiL Wayne's fans to know what is going on here. Here is the deal and I'll be as brief as possible. LiL Wayne's record label, Universal Music Group, accepted this competition I had set up and re-scheduled LiL Wayne's "Tha Carter V" cd for December 9th just so this competition could take place. Here is where things get interesting. Even though LiL Wayne's record label positioned his cd to compete with LiL Boosie's cd, LiL Boosie's label, Atlantic Records, made a decision just a few days ago to schedule the release of the LiL Boosie "Touchdown To Cause Hell" cd for February 2015.
I am going to cut to the chase here and say this. I have no idea why Atlantic Records scheduled LiL Boosie's cd for February 2015 when this competition with LiL Wayne on December 9, 2014 had already been set up. I, personally, think it is a decision that Atlantic Records and their corporate heads have to address. Regardless if Atlantic or their corporate parent want to address the decision to schedule LiL Boosie's cd for 2015, it doesn't change the fact that LiL Wayne's label has already made a lot of sacrifice to be a part of this competition I set up for December 9. Let me be clear. I am in no way affiliated with LiL Wayne's record label and I do not speak for them. But...I will say one thing and I'll say it with absolute certainty. If Atlantic Records does not recant on it's recent decision to release LiL Boosie's "Touchdown To Cause Hell" cd in 2015 and instead allow it be released on December 9, 2014 then it is in my belief that LiL Wayne's record label is going to permanently cancel the release of his "The Carter V" cd simply to bring this matter to light. The bottom line is Atlantic Records should have never allowed an announcement to be issued saying that Boosie's cd is not going to be released until 2015. I am not trying to defend LiL Wayne's label but what I am trying to express is that his label made major business sacrifices so that the LiL Wayne cd could compete with LiL Boosie's cd on December 9, 2014 and, in my opinion, Atlantic Records is currently not showing the proper respect to Universal Music Group for the sacrifices they made.
In Atlantic Records defense, I realize how they could feel that this LiL Boosie vs. Lil Wayne competition is too calculated and how they may have wanted to distance themselves from the competition because of that. However, if one looks at all the positive ways this competition would impact the music industry, I think one can clearly see that the benefits of this LiL Boosie vs. LiL Wayne competition far outweigh the risks associated with letting it take place.
I really hope things can be worked out so that the LiL Boosie vs LiL Wayne competition kicks off on December 9.
Sincerely,
John R.
PS: Again, my website is www.Boosieflier.wordpress.com . If anyone wants to read the specifics of this LiL Boosie/Lil Wayne situation just check out the blog. There is other information posted in the blog regarding other issues besides the Boosie/Wayne situation but I do cover the Boosie/Wayne matter in complete detail. So, if anyone wants to know what's really going on with this LiL Boosie/LiL Wayne cd competition, www.Boosieflier.wordpress.com is where you can find out all the particulars.
PPS: I won't leave any other posts on this thread and this is the only place I am promoting my blog so I hope the moderator doesn't delete the post. If the moderator does want to delete this post I respect that decision but I just think it would be a disservice to Wayne fans to do so.
BONUS PS: If anyone looks at my Boosie flier you'll see I have AL Kapone listed as an executive producer on Boosie's cd. I realize that leaving a phone number on a thread it tacky and not usually recommended but just so everyone knows that what I'm writing here is serious I'm going to post AL's phone number in this thread. This is something that is not posted on the blog. If anyone has any questions about this Lil boosie/LiL Wayne situation feel free to contact AL, at my request, at 1-901-878-9208. Just say that John said you could call. For those of you on this board who are not familiar with AL, he is a long time Memphis artist and has also worked behind-the-scenes in music for many years. He is alo the guy who wrote the song "Whoop That Trick" for Terrence Howard to perform in the 2005 film, "Hustle and Flow". AL also appeared in the movie. So...yeah...if anyone wants to contact AL andjust talk about "Hustle and Flow", then please contact him. I'm sure he'd love to speak with you. I am not trying to turn this into some Mike Jones (publicity-stunt) scenario by posting AL's phone number. It's just, I know AL would like to speak with everyone about this LiL Boosie/LiL Wayne matter and I know he can probably cover some details about the matter that even I wouldn't be able to cover.
[Note to moderator: Since this message is bound to bring lots of people to your website who have never been here, I wish you would tighten up on some of the photo's that people are using for their profile picture. The way I see it, if someone is not going to post a picture of themselves then they shouldn't have a profile picture posted at all. That's just my opinion, but hey, you can run the site how you want!!!]
