i havent been too big.. on start a fire or off day. definitely my least favorite records in this string of releases.

one thing i look for tho when im judging an album is how good a guy can be on his bad songs. and his his raps were still pretty tight on both records. so im still expecting the album to be dope. lol but i dont really care how the album sells. that seems to be a forum exclusive.

on another note tho. waynes always had trouble finding a hit record. its what 50 used to knock him for, before lollipop.

i think it has to do with wayne having such a hardcore style.. when you get down to it. wayne is hiphop as fuck. its beats and a rhyme. and thats usually alll. pretty barebones stuff..

for him get that top 40 style record.. he has to reach further across the aisle.. to create those accessible records. its harder work, usually less organic.. so quality generally suffers.

whereas you got someone like drake.. who mostly plays the middle anyway. super accessible to begin with, and askin him for a big radio song.. is like turnin up the pop slider on one of his songs. super easy.


really tho.. if youre an honest wayne fan.. and waiting on a single to buy the album.. then somethings gotta be wrong. lol im buyin c5 off the strength of d5 alone. nvm that i thought.. everything up until start a fire was hard.

it's funny how people mention and blame lil wayne for hip hop being "mainstream" and bad with the sole purpose of apealing to people's ears (aka radio friendly songs with no particular meaning just catchy beats etc.) ...goddamn it.

C5 gonna sell like C2...first week decent but as ppl listen and realize its lyrical content it will hit a milli.
Maybe not first week but I'd say like a month after it drops it goes plat
Btw rebirth went gold the first week..there's no way a carter album will undersell that
