    • Are we sure Don't Cry is even being pushed as a single? I don't see it on the release schedule for being pushed to radio. Maybe they just wanted to release the video for X on his birthday.

The term “single” isn’t the same today. It used to be a big push for an album now a “single” is to keep it afloat.

& yeah, Dont Cry is a “single”

Actually single still means the same. It's a song that's pushed to extend the life of an album. Just because it has a video doesn't make it a single.

Example: Stop Trying to Be God by Travis Scott. Got a music video early on, but was never sent to the radio therefore never pushed as a single. In comparison Yosemite is supposed to be the second single from Astroworld (not counting Butterfly Effect) as it's received the video along with the radio impact push although it flopped.

Same with Uproar... Don't Cry has not been scheduled to impact radio, so unless it actually does it's not considered a single.

Man we said the same thing you just said it in a paragraph.

Travis is the first person in the industry I’ve seen that will drop 3 songs out of nowhere and attach the most successful one to his album. It’s genius.

Nicki did this with Barbie Tingz and Chunli... but many artists drop singles years in advance like travis to boost album sales. Cardi b did it with bodak yellow etc

He released Butterfly with two other songs and just picked the one that stuck a little. It didn't do too good either, so I mean you can call it the lead single if you want.

Nah you said Don't Cry was a single, and I disagree for the time being.

Also, Drake kind of did the same thing Travis did? He used OVO Sound radio and released Right Hand and Hotline Bling in advance and just chose the one that stuck as a single and put it as a bonus track on Views.

Butterfly effect is 3x platinum lmao. But the point is lots of artist release a bunch of songs and whichever one does the best becomes the lead single while the others usually get scrapped of become bonus tracks.

That doesn't mean it didn't flop. It peaked at #50 on the charts...
