I feel lyrically he still had a lot of corny moments and the beat selection during this time was horrible but it was steps in right direction

you don't like the production on D'usse, Moment, Believe Me, Gotti, No Brainer, Better Get Em, Scottie Pippen, Life Of Mr. Carter, Mona Lisa, Open Letter, Open Safe, More To The Story? This period is special to me because it's my first full year as a fan of Wayne and honestly i liked everything he released that year. His features were amazing(Errrbody Remix is a classic) + C5 hype + Weezy Wednesdays + Drake vs Lil Wayne tour + the OG C5 leaks in 2019(which were mostly great imo). Sadly the last year Wayne was happy and healthy before the Birdman beef ruined him. Also YMCMB died that year. But the music he recorded that year was great to me.

dont think so it was fast tracked to be a flop and wayne was still pretty stiff and uninspired in that era he only started to sharpen up post 2015-2018 thank god for it tbh but again now he has become lazy and complacent it almost feels like wayne needs some kind of pressure to give a fk otherwise he jsut make derivative music

From watching his interviews, it seems like he believes he needs to try to sound like rappers that are poppin now. If only he knew his fans just want him to rap well and make decent songs/projects.
