Dedications have always been tha hype up to a Carter album to me. D5 was just too early, due to tha circumstances.

Dedication 1 & 2 were released after Tha Carter II
Dedication 3 was released after Tha Carter III

He only released Dedication 4 to build hype for IANAHB2, even though it was a big gap between them.

This is so awesomely exciting. Now that wayne is spitting flames again I love that he's releasing all this material. I wish he'd put it out like next month and just pile higher and higher , then drop C5! It'll be like
c3 season all over again (sort of).

i just hope D6 is more in the style of S4TW2 and not D5. I feel like d5 was a mess of a tape. Too many tracks, too many guests, plus he wasn't quite out of his "struggle bars" phase yet. His shitty lyric detector was not yet operating properly. I dug levels, typa way, cream, you song, still got the rock, started, fuckin problems. The rest was too IANAHB2-ish for me - few wayne moments were as uncomfortable as new slaves, UOENO, devastation, etc.

He now officially has his groove back (which is more complex than almost anyone realizes) and I want him to keep it this way.
