  • carter 4 is a masterpiece

yo look bruh I’ve been deciphering c 4 since it came out trying to figure out what it all means and why I completely hated it so much the first time heard it and why it took me years to finally accept the fact of what we got but now dude I can honestly say I finally get what this album was all about and why almost NO ONE understood it’s true complexion and what all of it means for us now but NOW I can say I am truly convinced and honestly in awe of the whole thing now and it is further proof than ever that lil wayne is a creative BRILLIANT GENIUS that was pressured into mediocrity, in this thread i will discuss for why I think carter 4 is the post modern masterpiece we were all waiting 4 and why carter 5 will never top it and why it was an intentional farce to his focused legacy and why carter 5 will be better than it and also why there were pre release indicators that wayne did not want to even release a c4 at all and why he also delivered a separate direct communication into his own sub plight

    Intro
BEAR WITH ME CUZ this some deep shit yall so PAY ATTENTION cuz I’m only gon say this once -_- so the album begins in the very end of an a d lib of wayne saying something like ‘something something. WOW man’ or something like that the something something part being unirrelevant because of the simple fact that wayne doesn’t sound like an EXSTATIC wow but more like a content complacent WOW MAN you know like WOW man another one.. listen to the treble quake of his voice effect

‘man fuck them bitches. and them hos'

wayne begins the album with saying fuck you to the people who bitched about wanting the carter 4 so bad and bullying him to release it under the deadline and also a direct reference to Tammy Torres with the and them ho’s part, this chick is the reason for many of this album’s greatest moments and also many of it’s worst

‘this the best worst feeling. and nigga if I die I die a death worth livin’

wayne is saying it’s the best feeling because of how happy he feels to be out of jail which is totally understandable however he is also saying it’s the worst best feeling because he never wanted to make a carter 4 any way which is understandable to which will later tie in to other lines of the album I will also discuss and also give more indepth insight on why his raps in c4 sounded so dumbed’ed down compared to c1 2 and 3 (so u guys wouldn’t want another carter album)

‘bitch its carter 4, murder’s all she wrote. now it’s fuck everybody...like a scorpio’

wayne references the character scorpion from mortal kombat

my take: I think this is one of the best songs on the album and actually a great metaphor for what the rest of what we would expect of this album to be but also of what we wouldn’t expect. this was the worst intro by wayne ever only because of the fact that he was making FUN of his other intros and PURPOSELY underlining the integrity of the other ones with this one, wayne’s whole objective with this album being to intentionally undermine the carter series to the point where he wouldn’t have to make any more and also give other rappers a chance to get fans to buy their music! wayne had SO much of the rap base at his side at this time that he had no choice BUT to take the fall so it would make it more fair for everyone else and make everyone more money for them, carter 4 wasn’t a terrible album because of personal reasons or nothing like that, it was terrible because it’s just business baby!!! wayne went in the booth and freestyled the first things that came to his head on the introduction track of the biggest album of all time..ALL of the other artists on his album had written material but the entire album was a freestyle by wayne made several days before the actual leak we got but I wouldn’t have no proof of that tho because it was a FREESTYLE but carter 5’s intro will be much better however it will not get the recognition of carter 4’s intro because of that

    Blunt Blowin

wayne follows up the first song of the album with the song that should’ve been the first song of the album

‘YEAH. mmm put my shades on’

usually when someone puts on their shades their leaving out or about to going outside. notice that wayne completely leaves the building in his recent hit dusse. ‘I just left the building and I take these hos to graceland’
the song starts off with a upbeat and depressing tempo as the audience realizes this could be the last carter.

‘I live it up like these are my last days. if time is money im an hour past paiddd’

when someone is paid that means they are not being paid any more money because they are already paid, which correlates to the ‘time is money’ membra therefore meaning there is no more time of him being the best rapper

‘freedom was my girl. until they fucking took her.’

triple entendre, first as a simple metaphor for the listener second as a reference to his time at rikers island in 2010 in isolation and THIRD as the actual creative freedom he had during the creating process of carter 1 2 and 3. carter 4 was demanded by fans and demanded by his team and management. carter 4 was more than anything a product of controlled communication

‘why that why this why u on that why shit. mother fucker ask me why I say why M’

all of his fans were upset and demanding why carter 4 kept getting pushed back. why does the tracklist look like that. why does this keep getting pushed back.,why that why this. so if someone asks wayne to explain why something is the way it is on his album he will tell you ‘YM’ straight up. YOUNG MONEY is the reason why these things are the way they are, not him!!

my take: song is somewhat basic on first listen but if you listen real close you can see what he is meaning to trying to say

    Megaman
best song title of the album, this is the definitely waynes world re named

‘only two years old when daddy used to bring them hookers home’

disturbing imagery. at two years old wayne saw things that he was not supposed to see however on chris brown’s look at me now he says his daddy is dead?!? that leaves birdman for the blame. after this line I lost respect for stunna man a little

‘how you niggas want it have it YO way, burger king’

this the line where I knew this was not waynes world re named

‘break in yo fuckin home take yo life, burglary’

this the line where I knew this could be waynes world again

my take: this song was OBVIOUSLY a parody of the hit 6 foot 7 foot right down to the ‘im goin back in man’ renactment. you have to ask yourself why would wayne position a such a track right before a song like 6 foot that is so much like it but done less good in EVERY way…it’s like, wayne was hand given the PERFECT platform (the beat) to do what he does and he knew everyone wanted another song like 6 foot for every song on the album to sound like that one and he was given the ULTIMATE opportunity to make the song of all time but when he was presented with the perfect stage to jam on it’s like it was SO MUCH pressure for him to handle that he just decided not to even try to best his efforts. 6 foot 7 foot was so intimidating to wayne that he made another song like it just so we could like it more and NOT want more of the same. absolutely masterful sub track on retro inner spec

    6 foot 7 foot
this song IS the carter 4 for me lol

    ‘Ek-Um’ *wayne clears throat

wayne subconsciously prepares the listener for the most front loaded rap track in music memory

‘you know father time. and we all know mother nature. its all of the family but I am of no relation’

this was the first sign that things were not gunna turn out as planned for the rest of the carter 4, not only just for being a dope line but also because he was referencing the entire carter trilogy in the single line ‘you know father time’ (c2) ‘and we all know mother nature’ (c3) ‘its all of the family’ (c4) ‘but I am of no relation’ (6 foot wont be anything like the rest of carter 4)

one of the best lines in rap history. the whole song is one of the best lines in rap history.

‘had my heart broken by this woman name tammy. but hos go be hos so I couldn’t blame tammy’

man fuck them bitches. and them hos. lol wayne a fool. but damn though. she petty as fuck for that -_- wayne obviously loved this chick. tammy torres is the main reason why this song is so great and why the rest of the album is so bad because most of the carter 4 is dedicated TO HER..(how to love, how to hate) tammy torress is the reason why we got the carter 4 how we got it, if she had never did wayne how she did him we would have never gotten songs like this or any of that. wayne is rapping out of feudal spited rage and in some instances it worked.

my take: wayne gave us this masterpiece just so he could take another one away from us, carter 4 would not exist if it were not for 6 foot 7 and 6’7 could not exist if not for the carter 4

    Nightmare of the Bottom
have any of you guys heard this song with a bass system?

‘this next song ima do, its from my upcoming album the carter 4. Now.., now, I had the choice to do any song off the album and I said, I figured I’d have a uh uh pretty intelligent crowd so I’d rather not do nothin too hype nothing too crazy I wanna just do something something yall listen to and something yall can go back and say that nigga actually said such and such and be like ima gon get that album where dat nigga say, such and such, so, this next song, this next song is called nightmares of the bottom, yeah.’

WOW. I couldn’t even follow along wit what he was saying as I was writing I had to replay the song 20 times just to catch all the words, GOAT of all time intro fool xD he had the choice to do ANY of the song s from the album at his show and he chose THIS particular one to showcase...that’s significant in and of itself but also a misleading divergent because the song on the album sounded NOTHING like the song from the concert it’s almost as if the song on the album was a PARODY from the version of the mtv one

‘we gunna do a song, that u never heard before’

once again emphasis on the fact that we’ve never heard the song before. and was this on the actual track or was someone actually saying this. who the fuck was saying this part?!?! lol

‘handclap. yeah. ok now pay attention yall.’

I couldn’t even catch up with what the words he was saying before even lol how im ma pay attention

‘sleeping at the top nightmares of the bottom, everybody wanna be fly to ya swat em. but who am I to talk? I aint shittin’ roses. we in the saaame picture but we all got different poses’

a reference to carter 3, when he says ‘we in the same picture but we all got different poses’ he means the ACTUAL ALBUM COVERS. ‘we in the same picture’ (carter 4 kid graduation/carter 3 baby graduation) ‘but we all got different poses’ (the pictures look different) sort of like a PARODY of the carter 3 album cover….u get the significance of this track now??! people were listening to this song expecting the same song from the concert just like people were listening to the CARTER 4 expecting the same as the carter 3

my take: its one of the very best songs of the album just on the bass alone, but it’s also introspectrum of our subsistent cavenders

    She Will
I’m gunna be honest I didn’t like this song at all lol but I will admit part of the reason for that is because I still don’t understand the meaning of this song like all the others?!?!

    *wayne lights a lighter 6 times* *wayne inhales twice* ‘young money, young money, young money’ yeah…yeah …yeah…4…4 …4….4..Ek – um…Ek – um… Ek – um…

LEGENDARY intro lol notice how he says four 4 times instead of 3

‘she will…do it for the realest niggas in the fucking game right now she will..’

that sounds evil af lol SHE WILL DO WHAT?!!? WHAT IS HE SAYING!??!?

*wayne lights a lighter, inhales* ‘ladies and gentlemen DRIZZY’

I find the outro/intro parts the best part of the song for some reason?!?! because it seems like wayne was more excited to introduce drake then he was for his own verse!?! i mean like I don’t know

‘feelin like the sky is opening and I am entering, YEAH…feelin like the world is falling, and I am RISING… CARTER, 4, BABY’

reference to the carter 4, wayne does a lot of hot/cold , dry/ hot lines and sometimes mix matches them, he didn’t mean the world is falling and he is rising he meant the world is rising and he is FALLING...hence CARTER 4.

    my take: worst single

    How to Hate
song dedicated to the girl who broke his heart TAMMY, we done talk about dis bitch b4

‘girl I was the one that told you fuck them other niggas. then you STILL went and fuck them other niggas, ohoo’

tpain got did dirty by ya girl tammy to?!?! WORD tho

‘and if I sound mad then you caught me, but THIS should explain, that you’re the one who taught me, how how to hate a biYATCHchhh that owe ya everything, atleast a wedding ring moving on to better things. so don’t ya call me talk- IN bout them other fools, im not good enough for you I thought that we waz cool OOOhoo’

on the surface it just seems like they are talking to the girl who broke their heart but no this line is talking to the FANS…we DO owe wayne everything. the whole hip hop COMMUNITY owes wayne everything. but now people are making fun of him and moving on to better things..

‘she used to always say fuck my niggas. and when I when to jail. she fuck my niggas…WELL’

lmao damn man. again a reference to tammy torres and also a reference to his FANS, he used to be the #1 rapper in everyone’s eyes and he was the only rapper they fucked with but when he went to jail people started saying he fell off!!

my take: this along with 6 foot 7 foot are my favorite 2 songs off the album to me

    Interlude

since this is the interlude and all that ima gon head and take a break lmao I’ve been working on this thread for DAYS im spent as fuck, I will do the other half of this album later in another post because there is just TOO much information on this mud to have to process, i will also talk more about the massive hype that was surrounding it at the time and why it was all a fixated obsession, wayne ALWAYS had a way of communicating with his audience sub directly but carter 4 took it to a WHOLE new level channeling our oppressive standardments and exemplifying the running transgressions of our per doctorate

I’m not saying this is the end all be all reasons of the carter 4 but you HAVE to be open to the virtua tricks wayne could be using

sorry for writing this much. but fuck that I aint sorry -_- oh well
