Whats up everyone--
Most of us here on LWHQ disagree with how Tez is marketing CV. I am curious to know how everyone would promote the album. Release with know single (Yeezus, Beyonce) or lots of hype. I did mine before the announcement of TOA and the releases of songs etc, I'll post mine here, what do you think?
-Announce & confirm Tha Carter V is officially finished being recorded, mixed, mastered, etc.
-Release a single for radio (Shooter, Lollipop, How to Love type song) along with video.
-Promote 1st single via award performances, talk shows, MTV, etc.
-Announce 40 city solo American Tour (Tha Carter V: Tour Part 1)
-Release "Tha Carter 4.5 EP" (with no announcement, singles, or promotion) via iTunes (collection of CIV & CV leftovers)
-On the outro of 4.5 Wayne announces CV will drop 2 weeks after tour ends. (specific date, no push backs)
-Release Standard edition Artwork on first day of tour
-Tour begins, standard hits are preformed along with C4.5 songs. CV single is preformed and release date is promoted and reiterated throughout the whole show.
-Halfway thru the tour, the 20th show (New Orleans), the album's second single is released. Song's subject matter is some time of ode to New Orleans-street single. (Hustler Music, Gossip, I'm Me, John type song) and is preformed throughout the tour
-After the last 18 shows 1 track is reviled from the track listing (without features or production credits creating rumors and anticipation.)
-After the 30th show the second single's video is released.
-Throughout tour Wayne is doing interviews, promos, photo shoots, videos, performances, talk shows, magazine covers etc.
-On the last night of touring the Deluxe cover along with official track list (features, times, and production credits) are released.
-1 week before the album is released the 3rd single is released with a video. (A Milli, 6F7F, Swag Surf type song)
-Tha Carter V is released.
-Tha Carter V Tour: Part 2 dates are announced.
-In the first week of the album's release, Wayne does album signings/meet and greets in 7 cities in 7 days. (New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles)
-2 Month after the album's release, tour begins preforming songs from C 4.5 & CV.
-1 Year after CV is released a theatrical Documentary is released capturing recording, releasing, behind the scenes footage, interviews, etc. (The Carter Doc. type movie replacing Weezy Wednesdays)
What do you think?! Did I forget anything? What would you change? If this doesn't go plat in a week, I don't know what would.
