no offence but i don't get why some ppl think your opinion (not you personally but the reviewer) is a fact and should be published online or in a magazine etc

If you hated s4tw2, and there's probably a lot out there who do, you'd love a negative review, like 'Yeah fuck lil Wayne he's garbage even this expert agrees with me'

Jay z on the breakfast club a few years ago said reviewers had a much more important role during the 90s cause they got the album a month before its release, so getting a good review was a huge part of the promotional package. Now though? Nowhere near as important, although a good pitchfork review for an unknown band can help a lot

i agree, i dont understand what a reviewers role is in the current situation with music. i guess i like to know what other people think of a record, but some people put way too much stock in reviewers opinions

Im reading what u guys have said and i think everyone is on one extreme side and cant meet in the middle. Theres some fire in there back to 06 wayne just like the reviewer said, but theres some fillers in there too. D2 had no fillers. straight fire every second of every song. now im just calling them fillers because each bar doesnt seem to compare to every other bar in terms of effort. theres some bars in there that arent the greatest and not consistent with hisusual consistency in every bar in every song. if that makes sense. this is his best tape since NC. the variety was different and fresh in each song. im a wayne fan and never talk anything negative and i really enjoy and appreciate this tape, but we gotta recognize their opinion. there was some lackluster metaphors in there. when i hear D2 i hear straight snapping all the way through. when i hear S4TW2 i hear snapping, but with metaphors that seem forced and stick out in between fire lines. there wasnt any stupid stand out lines that were horrible, but some lines u hear and u think "weak" and thats what we and the reviewers dont expect from wayne so when it happens its a big deal
