I think Wayne is a heavily underrated rapper. He breathes rap. He has created many legendary tracks and has blown my mind many times. Listening to a Wayne album or mixtape is like solving a puzzle. He uses words and metaphors most English speaking people know and does crazy things with them, and by doing so he also gives a great insight in American culture. His voice is unique, he controls many different flows, has great technique and doesn't forget to have fun. As a non-american whose native language isn't English, I've actually learned a lot from Wayne's lyrics. Just like I learned English from videogames. But that's also why I understand that most people around me who don't know sayings like 'burning bridges' and words like 'Nina' etc., have no idea what they're listening to and therefor aren't into Wayne that much. They hear "I send my goons to kill somebody, I need headproof", but they don't hear "No more am I my brother's keeper, Kain and Abel". Nor do they understand. And yes, sometimes I look stuff up on Rapgenius to figure it out, but doing so and investing time to figure his lyrics out by listening to his mixtapes and albums many times, has made me realize how brilliant Wayne is. As a fan for like seven, eight years now I don't like that he's constantly lying about release dates and stuff, but I realize that behind the screens things will not be as easy as it appears. And although I think his post-prison stuff hasn't really been on-point, and albums like IANAHB2 weren't actually 'good', they were still fun. And you could hear Wayne was/is having most fun on the wackiest tracks. But personally I think it's great to see that he's taking his music a bit more serious again, and the past few months have been awesome(I really enjoy SFTW2), so I can't wait for upcoming projects. I don't think Wayne will be as big as he ever was, but I hope I'm wrong and I hope he'll surprise us. ---- A bit longer than I expected, sorry

please explain how is wayne overrated? he's probably the most overhated rapper and he doesn't even get enough credit, especially for his new shit, and people are so quick to forget what he has done for hip hop & the classics he dropped, they only focus on his bad projects 😴
