I hate when people always insist that "hype" is the reason you like something. Sometimes that's true, but not EVERY fuckin' time. This is not a radio album at all if you ask me, so there is not necessarily "hype" driving the good comments about it.
If someone were to say, "Oh it's just hype, it'll wear off after a while," when TPAB dropped these same people would be all in denial. But because it's Wayne it just has to be hype. This has production and dope ass lyrics. Not just dope ass lyrics, but meaningful lyrics. Everything here makes sense. It may not be a subject you care about, but Wayne wasn't haphazard on this at all. Every single song has a point and strikes home somewhere with someone. Even if it contains some of his typical subjects(drugs, violence, sex), even that shit has it's place and reason.
I hate how people write it off because he isn't tryna be all pretentious and shit like Kendrick or Cole the entire time.
Some of you just really piss me off.
im with you mostly, but i think its interesting.. cos this album does feel so organic..but i think theres some big singles on here.. without you sounds like it could be huge for him, living right, london roads.. all could sound really promising on the radio.
looool. what id really like to see tho, is a 35 minute video. different songs from the album throughout.. probably starting with thinking bout you.. then getting picked up by euro.. and goin into pull up..
idk soem real epic shit. play the album like a movie.

Definitely a few songs could work on the radio, but it wasn't necessarily his aim as opposed to IANAHB2, C4, and C3...
Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.
This makes no sense tbh and I do not agree with you that I didnt thought it through.
Concept with this artwork is:
- Wayne is going through a dark time thats why the artwork is dark.
- Why the face is half faded so you don't see everything of his face. Is because in the time with CM, Wayne couldnt let his fans show who he really his, and what he's capable of, in the sense of that his creativity is denied under CM.
- Why I especially chose to show these 3 tattoos. The teardrops, because wayne is going through a tough time what he doesnt deserves. Symbolizing the 'sadness' The I AM Music tattoo, because its a 'comeback' album, and to show he still got it and still owns 'Music' The Smiley tatto, eventhough wayne is going through a sad/hard time, he still manages to smile, or atleast try to show he's ok after all the problems these days.
I love this description, now I like that cover more than before

Who is saying it's just hype? This record is dope and all I've seen is people saying it's dope. Hype isn't even that high anyway. Wayne gets more hate than hype on the blogs these days

Only thing I wished he had more on this album was aggressiveness, that tone in his voice can make average tracks turn to gold no homo
Like instead of just rapping real shit in a monotone voice he could turn it up a little if that makes sense
Like 1:16 on white girl would be a small example
Lol I was thinking of white girl when u said that before I read it. But I think he does that quite a few times on this album..
"Them zans got me walking like a zombie!"
That sudden inflection
But this album has like 10 different Wayne styles tho
What comes easy, won't Last. What Lasts won't come easy.
