I never felt as though it was the best thing since Carter 3. But I also don't like Carter 3 that much. And I still think this album has its moments. It's not nearly him at his best, but he's growing. He made an album that at least didn't veer too far from the underlying theme that was teeming with continuity and conviction accrued in the aspect of cohesiveness. Tha Carter 3 Sessions will never be topped though. Not by Wayne or anyone other than himself. Doesn't change the fact that this was an above average effort that served as a harbinger for enriching transparency of prospective discernment by general consensus. Unanimous conclusion is that Wayne did well. But he didn't do his best. And if that's the verdict, for a declaration of spiritual and artistic reincarnation, I'd say it wasn't too shabby.

Forreal? The review was ridiculous., they cherry picked two bad punchlines and blamed the entire record on that. They said Wayne had no soul.. As if they didn't even listen to 80% of the fucking record.
So fed up with these reviewers just jumping on the Wayne hate bandwagon

Lol thats absolute bullshit. These websites use polarizing reviews, bait content, and garbage incendiary articles to draw traffic.
Music sites do it, video game sites do it, movie review sites do it etc.
They want to lure you in, whether you liked the review or not you mostly likely might click another review or article on their page to compare and contrast. Think of these things as bait. If it draws enough traffic, they will create a second article about the first issue to keep the thing running.
Truth is, nobody gives a damn about reviews. Why ? Its the age of twitter and youtube... ANYBODY is a qualified listener and can upload their own video review or blast their opinion.
I don't even glance at reviews before I see a movie, listen to music, play a game. That's for the weak
Only people who are skeptical or already hate the content rely on reviews to guide them.

This album should have every critic, reviewer back on his side, but obviously that's not the case. I could give a shit less what others think about the album, because honestly, it's possibly my favorite Wayne project to date.
C5 will come, and it will be hated on more than any project, I can almost predict that now.

I love this album more than any after c3. Rebirth was so experimental ,people were not ready for it, even though he did have a few bangers, it was mostly a failed effort.
C4 was a sober wayne who just got out of prison so i knew it was going to be different for a while. Even still he had some great songs on there but its like he tried so hard to part a C3-part 2 that it came out with alot of filler-type songs,His lyrical ability was outta wack during this time.
IANAHB was fun ,It had some bangers but you could tell it was a bunch of song that he had scrapped and he just wanted to promote his team through the album with all the YM members in it.
IANAHB2 was horrible. He himself said he didnt like it. The sex references were off the charts, and it wasnt a great listening experience. Full of shitty songs,he barely had any flow or substance in this album.
When C3 came out he had the songs where he was jusy spittin raw rap, he had the mainstream poppy single,he had the sexual songs,he had the introspective songs, the dark songs, the fun songs, it was just a perfect compilation of music. (when i heard C3 sessions i was blown away).
I believe the reason we like to compare all his new albums to c3 or c2 is because we know what Wayne is capable of. We are his number 1 fans tbh. We want prime wayne. We want hungry wayne. We want the rap monsyter who was so confident he called himself the Rapper Eater and the Best Rapper Alive. Every time Wayne releases a project we crave that.
I believe this album most closely resembles that. Its a bit more mixtape-weezy ish but thats okay since that is what he is proficient at. I love the experimental beats and samples he put on and also that it had no big features. It was straight Lil Wayne. A very good compilation of music. His best for awhile. Honarable mentions are S4TW2 and D5. Those mixtapes gave me hope and Weezy delivered.

It's not C2 Wayne but then again, C2 wayne is only technically perfect Wayne. C3 sessions wayne is the musician wayne. This effort seems like wayne wanting to be a musician again while spitting aswell. Good direction.
Also worth mentioning is how wayne's style is so varied on this album. Its a collection of all the good wayne-isms since 2008?Last edited by ChrisBLawyer; 07-10-2015, 10:45 AM.
