huge fan of d5.. think its too entirely different approaches to lyricism on the two tapes.

D5 was more technical, nuanced, almost classical rhyming. deep rhyme schemes, subtle double entendre stuff.. lots of flying over heads lines.. even if it wasnt necessarily a punchline. overall, id say he was definitely slicker on d5.

also saying it has too many features is an inane way of reviewing that project. that has nothing to do w his performance on the tape. he killed d5.

on the other hand tho.. s4tw2 is way more direct in its lyricism and delivery. hes goin for broke nearly every time, its awesome. also more condensed.. more cohesive than a lot of wayne projects.

to me, s4tw2 is very nearly an album. theres an obvious narrative.. beginning, middle, end. its impressive.

so w that said. overall, ill give the nod to sftw2 as the better project. but i listened to d5 for about 8 months straight cos the lyrics/flows were do deep.

really a toss up. not even sure they should be pit against each other as much as paired..as the first two projects of waynes renaissance.

I think S4TW2 was more enjoyable. His bars were more cohesive on here than D5, I believe.

I love D5 when a skit isn't on or a song without Wayne but S4TW2 shits on it.

Lil Wayne, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Skooly, Rich Homie Quan, 2 Chainz.
