At the start of the documentary it says:

"Although we started this film with Mr. Carter's blessing, he has since withdrawn his support."

What was the reason for this... or the "supposed" reason for it?

He thought it showed him in a bad light and didn't want it being released. He took it to court and said it showed him in a negative way and that he was supposed to have input in the final version and he said he didn't. Although he lost the case and the Doc was allowed to be put on sale on DVD.

I personally don't think he would care about that. I thought it was funny as fuck!

However, they did show him live doing *pussy monster* etc, and lollipop with lyrics "pussy in my mouth" and getting *raped* at age 11. Now - I couldn't care less - but if u don't know Lil Wayne, and just saw the documentary, I think it could put you off, or give u the wrong impression. Yeah he talks about sex, but no more than any other rapper - I think documentary focused rather a lot on drugs and sex.

I think it should have focused on his unique style rather than just showing him performing controversial and explicit songs.

I quite liked the documentary, and yeah, I still love Wayne!

I hear that was a fight about taht documentary...Wayne at first didnt wannted to be postet but the QE3 posted it.....in the end the documentary was a bit weak because they tried to show all Wayne bad attitude....I will like him for ever

I imagine he didn't enjoy the way his interviews portrayed him. It could have also had something to do with how fucked up he was in a lot of it. And finally, I think the angle they took with Wayne not being a big part of Reginae's life could have had an impact.

There was some controversy over the release of The Carter documentary. Did you feel like they emphasized the drug addiction aspect too much? Is that the reason you didn’t want it released?
The fact that we didn’t want it released was business; paperwork. I feel like, if I agreed to have that camera around me, then I can’t tell that person what to edit when they go to the editing room, unless I am in the editing room and editing with them. If I’m not then I shouldn’t complain, but I was supposed to have a say-so because I had to approve it. And that was the whole [problem]. I didn’t approve it and they still put it out.

So you weren’t happy with the creative aspect or the business or both?
It was some of both. There were females on there with me and sh*t, you know? Why give them some shine when I’ve got baby mothers? I believe as an editor or whatever, as a person associated with me, if you want to become a real business partner with me I believe you should consider things like that. I shouldn’t have to be the one to consider it.
