I'm trying to introduce my friend, another huge rap fan, who isn't too fond of Wayne, to Wayne. I want to compile a list of songs and give them to him in a single package. What songs do you suggest? He enjoys guys like Joey Badas$, Capital STEEZ, Earl Sweatshirt, Mac Miller, ect, but I still think he could get into Wayne. I'd prefer more accessible songs.
At the moment this is the list:
A Milli
Let the Beat Build
Dr. Carter
6 Foot 7 Foot
Tie My Hands
Sportscenter
Georgia Bush
Cannon
South Muzik
Pretty short, a little too much so. Any suggestions?
From the list of rappers you said outside of earl sweatshirt it seems like he likes east coast style rap so the closest thing wayne has to that in my opinion is c2. It also doesnt hurt that i believe c2 is the easiest listen wayne has. So i'd just tell him to listen to the whole c2 or at least a few songs off it. tha mobb/ fly in/c2/ fly out/ reciept/ hustler musik/ money on mind/ feel me/ get over. Those to me are the most east coast/ ny style songs off c2
If you want to give somebody the impression that lil wayne's a good rapper
you need to pick the tracks where he shows his flowing ability, originality etc.
If I were you I'd choose
La La La
Fly In, Carter II & Fly Out
Scarface
Georgia Bush & Weezy's Ambitions
Miss My Dawgs (important)
Renegades
Clear The Set
I hate them thirsty bitches
Cut them off like circumcision -Lil Wayne

5 songs I would add to that list are: I'm Me, Gossip, Blooded, Ride For My Niggas, and Paradice.
