really, not better than NC2? im practically done with nc2 already, i was on dedication 5 for like a year and half... ive got d5 as his strongest tape since drought 3..
D5 was a great tape
no way it was better than the original No Ceilings

i rate it above no ceilings. i think d5 has a better quality of lyricism, better writing, better beats. i was more impressed by d5. thats probably his most ambitious tape since dedication 2. (this is a master at work) dedication 5 was a reclamation project. he went over the biggest beats by the biggest artist, not his usual regional beatjacking... he took on kanye, and kendrick, drake, and quan, ross and meek. he took aim squarely at the top, and rapped his ass off. no ceilings was mostly him having fun. which is cool.. and classic in its own way.. but dedication 5 was him taking rap serious for the first time in years.

Which was what you described. Biggest beats by biggest artists.
And he ain't playing catch up, when Wayne's already made his mark in hiphop history.
again..not the same. the biggest beats from several artist is an attack on the game..
several beats from not just one artist.. but one project.. is trying to ride a wave. its not even like the prefix. where he was making an "im next" statement..
cant be so head over heels for wayne that you fail to see the long view of the game.. wayne talking comebacks on a tape.. he clearly feels like hes playing some form of catch up. sure hes a legend, but hes competitive and he wants in now. and right now, future and drake are well ahead. lol its okay. it doesnt mean wayne is any lesser for it.. hes just got work to do, or something to figure out.
Drake and Future ahead for how easily they can make infectious tunes. Where's the goddamn invigorating and compelling substance? And I'm not talking about Future blabbering on about his woes that involve being a Promethazine and Codeine Fiend Celebrity who's not-so-conspicuously divulging his deep depression that provokes him to clench and clasp his hands around that Styrofoam Cup that much tighter. Or Drake being extra-corny and it actually working out for him just by chance (Hotline Bling, Sweeterman Remix, etc.). Drake is so hot, he could cop a squat on a video and it would get so many views. People would be raving about how fearless and shameless of a pioneering Information Age Proponent and Iconic Figure he was for pulling that off.
